VOCABULARIO – CAPITULO 6 PRIMER PASO – DESCRIBING A FAMILY ¿Cómo es tu familia? – What is your family like? ¿Cuántas personas hay en tu familia? – How many people are in your family? They are referred to as “go” verbs. hacer- to make, to do salir- to go out, to leave hago hacemos salgo salimos haces hacéis sales salís hace hacen sale salen VOCABULARIO EXTRA pelo castaño- brown hair pelo rizado- curly hair pelo corto- short hair pelo liso- straight hair pelo largo- long hair egoísta- selfish perezoso/a- lazy trabajador/a- hard working Can you figure out what these words mean? agresivo/a desorganizado/a artístico/a generoso/a atlético/a responsable creativo/a independiente tímido/a TERCER PASO – DISCUSSING PROBLEMS AND GIVING ADVICE ¿Qué debo hacer? – What should I do? dice que- he/she says that Debes…- You should… no es cierto- it’s not true los quehaceres domésticos - household chores un problema- a problem cortar el césped- to cut the lawn menos - less cuidar al gato- to take care of the cat demasiado- too much hacer la cama- to make the bed la sala- living room limpiar la cocina- to clean the kitchen planchar- to iron *Another “go”verb: irregular in the yo form only. poner la mesa- to set the table poner- to put or place pongo ponemos pasar la aspiradora- to vacumn pones ponéis trabajar en el jardín- to work in the garden pone ponen *Remember, when using one (1) verb in a sentence you conjugate that verb. However, when two (2) verbs are used only the 1st verb is conjugated. Ex 1 : Yo trabajo en el jardín. - I work in the garden. (1 verb, work) Ex 2 : Yo tengo que trabajar en el jardín. – I have to work in the garden. (2 verbs, have & work) *PLEASE NOTE: Sections that say ASI SE DICE , GRAMATICA , and NOTA GRAMATICAL in your textbook are required writing for your Spanish notebook. They will be assigned as we begin that section. However, if you are absent you are responsible for it.
