ANIMAL (NATURAL SCIENCE)
The animal kingdom is divided into
two groups: vertebrates and
invertebrates.
Vertebrates have a backbone and
invertebrates do not.
El reino animal está dividido en dos
grupos: vertebrados e
invertebrados. Los vertebrados
tienen columna vertebral y los
invertebrados no.
According to vertebrates we
distinguish: mammals, birds,
reptiles, amphibians and fish.
En los vertebrados distinguimos:
mamíferos, pájaros, reptiles,
anfibios and peces.
1-Mammals are viviparous. They
have hair or fur. They can be
herbivores, carnivores or
omnivores.
2-Birds have feathers, wings, two
legs and a beak. Birds are
oviparous. They lay eggs.
1-Los mamíferos son viviparous,
es decir nacen del vientre de la
madre. Tienen pelo o pelaje.
Pueden ser herbívoros, (hierba)
carnívoros (carne)u omnívoros (de
todo).
2- Los pájaros tienen plumas, alas,
dos patas y un pico. Son ovíparos
(nacen de huevos).
3- Reptiles lay hard eggs on land. They
breathe with lungs and have scales.
Los reptiles ponen huevos duros en la
tierra. Respiran con pulmones y tienen
escamas.
4. Amphibians lay soft eggs in water. At
first they breathe with gills, and then
develop lungs when they are adults.
Los anfibios ponen huevos blandos en el
agua. Al principio respiran por branquias,
después desarrollan pulmones cuando se
hacen adultos.
5-Fish have scales and fins.
They breathe with gills. They
live in rivers, lakes and
oceans.
5-Los peces tienen escamas
y aletas. Respiran por
branquias. Viven en ríos,
lagos y océanos.
According to invertebrates we distinguish: arthropods and molluscs.
En los invertebrados distinguimos los artrópodos y los moluscos.
1-Arthropods are invertebrates. They
have a segmented body and limbs with
joints. Many have antennae. They have
external armour that protects their
bodies called an exoskeleton.
1-Los artrópodos son invertebrados.
Tienen un cuerpo segmentado y
extremidades con articulaciones.
Muchos tienen antenas. Tienen una
armadura que protege sus cuerpos
llamada exoesqueleto.
2-Molluscs are invertebrates.
They have a soft body and
some have a shell. Many have
tentacles.
2-Los moluscos son
invertebrados. Tienen una piel
suave y algunos tienen una
concha. Muchos tienen
tentáculos.
