WHAT IS A GLUCOSE METER?
Also called glucometer, it is an electronic device
designed to analyze levels of glucose in capillary
blood. It allows people with diabetes to
personally control their glucose levels.
The type of glucose meter that will be used by
each person must be determined by a health
professional with experience in diabetes, looking
for the best equipment that suits the needs of
the patient.
People with diabetes manage their blood sugar
(glucose) levels constantly. After taking the
blood sample and examining it, the glucometer
will determine if glucose levels are low or high
