Patented Technology
• Ideal for network color printing on both standard and 11 x 17 paper. The 5500 is HP’s leading offering
for the “Light Production” (A3) market. Released in November 2002, it replaces the HP® 8500 printer
released in October 1998.
• MSE’s new HP® 5500 Absolute Color Technologies™ (ACT) system now allows for borderless
landscape prints. Typical aftermarket cartridges require at least a 1/4" border on each side when
printing full coverage landscape prints.
What does SCS do?
SCS technology actually adds a
new c ritical cleaning component to
the cartridge that keeps the OPC
and PCR free from toner buildup
for the full life of the cartridge.
• The new HP® 5500 ACT system also completely eliminates fuser wrap. Fuser wrap is a common print
defect that occurs when a high page coverage print does not fuse to the paper causing toner to stick to
the fuser. The paper cannot peel off the fuser and exit the printer correctly so the printer jams.
• Great dealer margins available to OEM customers seeking true alternatives to the very costly OEM
cartridges.
•The HP® 5500 contains the new Secondary Cleaning System™ (SCS) technology, which keeps the
PCR totally clean of toner additive throughout the complete life of the cartridge. This eliminates many
historical issue in print defects such as streaking, dirty print, and backgrounding.
