Dr. Nicola Cenacchi
Nicola Cenacchi is a research analyst in the Environment and Production Technology Division,
IFPRI, where he works on projects related to agricultural technologies, climate change, and
adaptation to extreme weather events. Previously he was part of the core team for the World
Bank 2010 World Development Report on Climate Change and Development.
While working for the World Bank, Cenacchi also co-authored a chapter focusing on land and
water resources, coastal areas and biodiversity in the book Adapting to Climate Change in
Eastern Europe and Central Asia (World Bank).
He holds a Laurea in biological sciences from the University of Bologna (Italy), and a master’s
degree in environmental technology from Imperial College London, with a specialization in
ecological management of natural resources.
Nicola Cenacchi es analista de investigación de la División de Ambiente y Tecnologías de Producción del IFPRI (Instituto Internacional de Investigación sobre Políticas Alimentarias), donde trabaja
en Proyectos relacionados con las tecnologías agrícolas, el cambio climático y la adaptación a los
eventos meteorológicos extremos. Previamente fue parte del equipo principal que elaboró el
Informe Global 2010 del Banco Mundial sobre Cambio Climático y Desarrollo. Trabajando para el
Banco Mundial, Cenacchi también fue co-autor de un capítulo sobre los recursos agua y suelo,
áreas costeras y biodiversidad del libro del Banco Mundial “Adaptación al Cambio Climático en
Europa del Este y Asia Central”.
Recibió el título Laurea en Ciencias Biológicas de la Universidad de Bologna (Italia) y el título de
Master en Tecnología Ambiental en el Imperial College de Londres, con especialización en el
manejo ecológico de los recursos naturales.
