Apuntes - The Present Perfect with Irregular Verbs To form regular past participles: -ar verbs add → ado hablar → hablado -er and -ir verbs add → ido comer → comido vivir → vivido *There is a written accent in the past participle of -er and -ir verbs whose stems end in a, e, or o: caer → caído leer → leído oír → oído Some verbs have totally irregular past participles and do not follow this pattern.
