SECOND COLLECTION
Working on the Margins
This weekend, November 19-20, 2016, is the Collection
for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development
(CCHD) and needs your help. CCHD was founded to end
the cycle of poverty in the United States by funding organizations that help people help themselves. With the tradition
of improving education, housing situations, and economic
development, CCHD continues to make a positive impact
in communities nationwide. Your contribution will defend
human dignity and help those living on the margins of our
society. Please give to the CCHD Collection. Thank you for
your generosity and support.
MAINTENCE AND REPAIR
Next weekend, November 26th & 27th, 2016 the second
collection will be taken up to help offset the costs of heating the church. Thank you for your generosity.
GENERATIONS OF FAITH CAMPAIGN
Remember to keep active your promise to the “Generations of Faith Campaign” and to help make the necessary repairs in our Parish.
Please use the envelopes sent by the
Campaign Office or bring your own envelopes properly
identified. All payments that we receive are sent to the Diocese every week. Although we have surpassed the goal of
$950,000 and promises of almost $1,400,000 was obtained, that amount has NOT yet been received. Only if we
keep our promise, can we make a reality the goals proposed to help our Bishop and our Parish.

CHRIST THE KING
The Church’s liturgical year
concludes with the feast of
Christ the King. Because
America was founded on the
experience of rejecting a king,
calling Christ “the King” can
be ambiguous for Americans.
But Jesus’ early followers described him as such and, in
fact, they became identified as
those who recognized in him
the anointed king, the Christ (in
Hebrew, messiah) and were
called
“Christians”
(Acts
11:26). So what does it mean to affirm that Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ, the King?. As the very name Christian implies, we who follow Jesus are to share in his work of
preaching and working for God’s kingdom. In baptism and
confirmation we too have been anointed with oil and
brought under his kingship. Our lives should manifest our
concern for God’s kingdom. Working for peace and justice
marks Jesus’ kingship. In the same way, we, as his followers, should be concerned for these also, both within the
Christian community itself and within the world as a whole.
God’s kingship is manifested especially in concern for the
poor, the needy, and the marginal in society.
THANKSGIVING MASS
Our one Mass on November 24th, 2016 at 10:00am will be a
bilingual Mass. Please join us as a par ish community to
give thanks to God for the many blessings in our lives.
The Rectory and CCD offices will be closed on November
24 & 25. Church will also close, on November 24th after
the 10:00am Mass on Thanksgiving Day, and on Friday, November 25th after the 9:00am Mass.

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
ANNUAL PARISH TREE LIGHTING
On Sunday, November 27th, 2016, First Sunday of Advent, at 6:00pm Blessed Sacrament
Church will have its Annual Lighting of the
Christmas Tree. As becoming a tradition, our
Manger will also be blessed this night. We
are very thankful you the hard work of Yacinio, Zoila
and Oscar in making this possible for all of us to enjoy
this Christmas Season. Thank you for your contributions
that will help us cover the expenses.

TRABAJANDO DESDE LA PERIFERIA
Este fin de semana, 19-21 de Noviembre, es la Campaña
Católica para el Desarrollo Humano (CCHD) necesita su
ayuda. CCHD fue fundada para erradicar el ciclo de pobreza en los Estados Unidos otorgando fondos a aquellas organizaciones que ayudan a las personas a ayudarse a sí mismas. Cumpliendo con su tradición de mejorar la educación,
la situación de la vivienda y el desarrollo económico,
CCHD sigue teniendo un impacto positivo en las comunidades en toda la nación. Su contribución defenderá la dignidad humana y ayudará a aquellos que viven al margen de
nuestra sociedad. Por favor, contribuya a la Colecta de

MANTENIMIENTO Y REPARACIÓN
El próximo fin de semana, 26 y 27 de Noviembre del 2016,

Semanalmente enviamos todos los ofrecimientos o pagos para la
Campaña. Aunque hayamos superado la Meta de $950,000 y se

ENCENDIDO ANUAL DE LUCES DE NAVIDAD
El Domingo 27 de Noviembre de 2016, primer
Domingo de Adviento, a las 6:00pm. La Iglesia
del Santísimo Sacramento llevará a cabo el
encendido Anual de Luces del Árbol de Navidad. Como una tradición también el Pesebre
será bendecido esta noche. Agradecemos a
Yaicinio, Zoila y Oscar por su arduo trabajo para que todos
podamos disfrutar de esta tradición Navideña. También
agradecemos de antemano por toda contribución que hagan
para ayudarnos a cubrir los gastos de este proyecto.

CRISTO REY
El Año Litúrgico de la Iglesia concluye con la fiesta de Cristo Rey.
Debido a que América fue fundada
en la experiencia de rechazo de un
rey, llamando a Cristo “el Rey”
puede ser ambiguo para los estadounidenses pero los primeros seguidores de Jesús lo describen como tal y, de hecho, se convirtieron
identificados como aquellos que
reconocieron en El al rey ungido, el
Cristo (en hebreo, mesías) y fueron
llamados “cristianos” (Hechos
11:26). Así que. ¿Qué significa
afirmar que Jesús es el Mesías, el
Cristo, el Rey?. Como el propio nombre Cristo implica, somos
nosotros los que seguimos a Jesús para compartir en su obra de
predicación y de trabajo para el reino de Dios. En el bautismo y la
confirmación hemos sido ungidos con aceite y puestos bajo su
reinado. Nuestra vidas deben manifestar nuestra preocupación por
el reino de Dios. Trabajando por la paz y la justicia, marcamos la
realeza de Jesús. De la misma manera, nosotros, como sus seguidores, deberíamos estar preocupados por estos también, dentro y
fuera de la comunidad cristiana en el mundo. El reino de Dios se
manifiesta sobretodo en la preocupación por los pobres, los necesitados y los marginados de la sociedad.
MISA DE ACCIÓN DE GRACIAS
En el Día de Acción de Gracias, 24 de Noviembre, se celebrará
una sola Misa bilingüe a las 10:00am. Unámonos para agradecer a Dios por tantas bendiciones que nos ha dado en la vida.
La Oficina Parroquial y el Catecismo estar án cer r ados el
24 y 25 de Noviembre. La Iglesia también cerrará después
de la Misa de Acción de Gracias y el Viernes 25 después de
la Misa de 9:00am.

Almighty and ever-living God, you
sent your Spirit upon the Apostles to
help them found your Church in the
midst of persecution. We ask that you
keep your Spirit, in a special way, with
the Patriarchs of Syria who today fight
to maintain your Church. We pray for
the comfort of the loved ones of those
who have been thrust upon the martyr’s
throne, that they may no longer despair, but rejoice in the saving power of
the Cross. Just as you softened the heart of the Persian king to
free your people, soften the hearts of those today who seek the
destruction of the faithful. We ask also that you send your

tu Espíritu sobre los Apóstoles para ayudarles a fundar tu Iglesia en medio de persecución. Te pedimos que mantengas tu Espíritu,
de una manera especial, con los Patriarcas
de Siria que hoy luchan por mantener su
Iglesia. Oramos por el consuelo de sus seres
queridos y de aquellos que han sido arrojados sobre el trono del mártir, para que ya no
sufran, sino que se regocijen en el poder
salvador de la Cruz. Así como ablandaste el
corazón del rey persa para liberar a tu pueblo, ablanda los corazones de aquellos que hoy buscan la destrucción de los fieles.
Pedimos también que envíes tu Espíritu sobre nosotros para que
podamos ser instrumentos fieles de tu paz. Todo esto lo pedimos
por medio de Cristo nuestro Señor. Amén.

VISITA LA
DIÓCESIS DE BROOKLYN-QUEENS
VIRGEN PEREGRINA
La imagen de la Virgen de la Caridad traída el
año pasado des de Cuba por el Papa Francisco
ha llegado a la Diócesis de Brooklyn-Queens,
coincidiendo con la celebración por el centenario de su proclamación como Patrona del pueblo Cubano por el Papa Benedicto XV en 1916.
La imagen fue entregada al Papa Francisco en
Septiembre de 2015 por una familia Cubana
durante su visita al Santuario de la Virgen de la
Caridad del Cobre, en Santiago de Cuba. Los
fieles le pidieron que la llevara a Estados Unidos con motivo de su viaje por el Encuentro
Mundial de las Familias y la diera al exilio como "Signo De Unidad De La Familia Cubana".
En las últimas décadas, "desde su casa del Cobre es ella quien ha sostenido la fe del pueblo
cubano contra todos los embates del ateísmo, y
también la que supo amparar a sus hijos en las
tristes horas del
Ella cuida de sus
hijos dondequiera que se encuentren y quiere reunirlos a todos bajo su manto y
como un solo pueblo.
Hoy la Virgen visita a sus hijos fuera de la patria.
Una misión de unidad en la fe que permitirá a nuestros hermanos unirse en oración, dondequiera que estén, y a los pies de nuestra Madre implorar por el presente y sobre todo por ese futuro que todos queremos para Cuba y toda América Latina en el que se vean cumplidas las promesas de Dios que María proclama en su
conocido Cantico: “El hace proezas con su brazo, dispersa a 1os soberbios de corazón, derriba del trono a los poderosos enaltece a los humildes, a los hambrientos los colma de bienes a los ricos los despide vacíos.”
