II Workshop on Philosophy and Cognitive Science II Encuentro de Filosofía y Ciencia Cognitiva Buenos Aires, Argentina 29 de noviembre al 1 de diciembre de 2010 ‐‐‐‐‐ CONVOCATORIA A PRESENTACIÓN DE PONENCIAS ‐‐‐‐‐ Conferencistas invitados José Luis Bermúdez (Washington University in St. Louis) Elizabeth Camp (University of Pennsylvania) Daniel Weiskopf (Georgia State University) Sobre la base de que la investigación empírica ilumina problemas filosóficos acerca de la mente y, a su vez, la reflexión filosófica aporta para el desarrollo de teorías en ciencia cognitiva, el taller busca crear un foro bienal de discusión de problemas que se encuentran en el cruce entre la filosofía y la ciencia cognitiva. Ejemplos de temas relevantes son, entre otros, las representaciones mentales, la arquitectura cognitiva, conceptos, percepción, innatismo, conciencia, auto‐conocimiento. Se dará preferencia al tratamiento de estos temas tanto desde las diversas perspectivas filosóficas relacionadas directamente con ellos (i.e. filosofía de la mente y de las ciencias cognitivas, fenomenología, etc.) como de las diversas disciplinas que componen la ciencia cognitiva (i.e. psicología, lingüística, etc.). Se convoca a la presentación de ponencias en español o inglés de 40 minutos de duración incluyendo la discusión. Deberá enviarse, por correo electrónico, un resumen detallado de aproximadamente 1500 palabras presentando el esquema argumentativo general del trabajo en documento adjunto en formato .doc, .pdf, o .rtf a la siguiente dirección: [email protected]. El nombre y la afiliación institucional del autor deberán consignarse sólo en el cuerpo del mensaje. Los resúmenes recibidos serán sometidos a referato ciego por especialistas designados por el comité organizador. El comité se reserva el derecho de solicitar el trabajo completo, si así fuese necesario. Examples of relevant topics are, inter alia, mental representations, cognitive architecture, concepts, perception, innatism, consciousness, and self‐knowledge. Preference will be given to submissions from different philosophical perspectives (i.e. philosophy of mind and philosophy of cognitive science, phenomenology, etc.) as well as the disciplines that constitute cognitive science (i.e. psychology, linguistics, etc.) which deal directly with these issues. We invite all those interested to send in submissions for 40‐minute presentations in English or Spanish –including discussion. Submissions should take the form of a 1500‐word abstract presenting the main argument. Submissions should be sent by e‐
mail in an attached .doc, .pdf or .rtf file to [email protected]. Authors’ names and affiliation should be given only in the text of the e‐mail message. The abstracts will be blind reviewed by experts designated by the organizing committee. The committee reserves the right to request the full paper, if necessary. Deadline for reception of submissions: August 15, 2010 Notification of acceptance/rejection: September 15, 2010 The talks of the invited speakers will be given in English.
