RESEARCH INTERESTS
At the present my specific research interests involve the study of grape berry biochemical and
molecular mechanisms that coordinate relevant quality traits of grape berry, namely flavonoid
pathway. I am currently studying the effect of water deficit on the accumulation and the biosynthesis
of different classes of flavonoids (anthocyanin, proanthocyanidin, flavonols and stilbenes) as well on
hormones namely ABA. In parallel, I am interested in the biosynthesis and the accumulation of berry
cuticle during fruit development and the impact of water stress on this process.
