There are 9 pronouns we use: Singular persons: Plural persons: Yo = I nosotros = we Tú = you (familiar) Él = he ellos = them (m) Ella = she ellas = them (f) Ud. = you (formal) Uds. = all of you Tener = to have • Tener is a verb in Spanish that means to have and it is used with age because in Spanish we say that someone has so many years old instead of is…years old. • Tener has to be changed with the subject (person) of the sentence to say who is so many years old. There are 5 different forms of Tener to use to express ages. Formas de Tener Tener (to have) Yo tengo = I have nosotros tenemos = we have Tú tienes = you have Él tiene he has ellos tienen = they have Ella tiene = she has ellas tienen = they have Ud. tiene you have Uds. tienen = you all have • ¿Cuántos años tienes, tú? Yo tengo veinticinco años. • ¿Cuántos años tiene Paco? (él) Paco tiene treinta años. • ¿Cuántos años tiene tu madre? (ella) Mi madre tiene cincuenta y dos años. • ¿Cuántos años tiene Ud.? Yo tengo cuarenta años. • ¿Cuántos años tienen Pedro y Victor? (ellos) Ellos tienen quince años. • ¿Cuántos años tienen Marta y Anita? (ellas) Ellas tienen once años. • ¿Cuántos años tienen Uds.?
