FIFTH GRADE
NEWS
WEEK OF September 23, 2013
MATH: For the rest of September the students will be working on
using multiplication and division to solve problems involving whole numbers. This
includes three digit dividends and two digit divisors as well as three digit by two
digit multiplication.
SCIENCE: We will be learning about matter, the different states of matter and also
it’s properties. Please make sure you are spending 15 minutes every night looking
over your study guide.
READING: We will be integrating Social Studies through Non-Fiction Texts.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will be studying the 13 Colonies for the next few
weeks.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Please check your child's planner for important information. They should be writing
their homework, upcoming events, and goals for the week in it.
We will be sending all important information in The Wednesday Folders, it is very
important for you to check it each week and sign that you have looked at the
information.
It is not too early to start thinking about camp! Cost is $135 for students and $75 for
parents. You can start sending money in a little at a time now. The teachers will
keep track of the student accounts.
Please have your child at school by 7:45 if they are going to be eating breakfast.
If you haven’t done so please sign up for Reminder 101, in order to get important
updates and information from your child’s teachers.

MATEMÁTICAS: El resto de septiembre estaremos usando multiplicacion y
division para resolver problemas. Estaremos usanado dividendos de tres
digitos y divisores de dos digitos. Tambien estaremos multiplicando tres
digitos por dos digitos.
CIENCIAS: Estudiaremos los tres estados de la material y las propiedades fisicas de
la materia. Es importante que su hijo(a) estudie las notas de ciencias por 15 minutos
en casa.
LECTURA: Estaremos estudiando temas de estudios sociales usando textos
de no ficcion.
Estudios Sociales: Estaremos estudiando las 13 colonias durante las
proximas semanas.
Otras noticias importantes:
Favor de revisar la agenda de sus hijos. Allí econtrara información importante.
Deberán estar escribiendo lo que tienen que hacer de tarea, eventos próximos, y sus
metas de la semana.
Estaremos mandando información importante cada miercoles en un sobre. Es
importante que lo revise cada semana y que firme de recibido.
No es muy pronto para pensar en el campamento. El costo es de $135 por
estudiante y $75 por padre de familia. Usted puede empezar a enviar dinero
poco a poco con su hijo(a). Su maestro de clase mantendrá una cuenta
individual del dinero recolectado.
Favor de asegurarse que su hijo(a) esté en la escuela a las 7:45 para que así
pueda desayunar a tiempo.
