LA CONDENSACIÓN SE PRODUCE: - POR UN INCREMENTO DE LA CANTIDAD DE VAPOR DE AGUA DEL AMBIENTE SIN MODIFICACIÓN SIGNIFICATIVA DE LA TEMPERATURA DEL AIRE (ESTO GENERA UN AUMENTO DE LA HUMEDAD RELATIVA, COMENZANDO LA CONDENSACIÓN AL ALCANZARSE LA PRESIÓN DE VAPOR DE SATURACIÓN) - POR UN DESCENSO DE LA TEMPERATURA, AÚN SIN VARIAR EL CONTENIDO DE VAPOR DE AGUA EN EL AIRE (LO QUE PRODUCIRÁ DE IGUAL MODO UN AUMENTO DE LA HUMEDAD RELATIVA, INICIÁNDOSE LA CONDENSACIÓN AL ALCANZARSE LA TEMPERATURA DE ROCÍO TR). Se expresa en kg/kg o g/kg de aire seco. PARA CUALQUIER TEMPERATURA Y PRESIÓN BAROMÉTRICA DE UN ESPACIO DETERMINADO, LA RELACIÓN ENTRE LA PRESIÓN PARCIAL PV DEL VAPOR DE AGUA Y LA PRESIÓN DE SATURACIÓN PS A LA MISMA TEMPERATURA, ES UNA MEDIDA DE LA HUMEDAD RELATIVA. Pv’’ = PS HR (%) = 100 PV = nRT = m RT M xw = M v pv 18 pv = M as p 29 p − pv as PV PS t El aire estará saturado de vapor de agua cuando, a una temperatura dada, su presión parcial sea igual a su presión de saturación, Ps , a dicha temperatura. Cuando el aire está saturado Pv = Ps y T = Tr y la humedad relativa será del 100%. De la misma forma, el aire estará saturado cuando, a una presión parcial Pv cualquiera, su temperatura sea igual a su temperatura de saturación a dicha presión. Dicha temperatura se denomina temperatura o punto de rocío, Tr , ya que indica la temperatura a la que comenzará a condensarse el vapor de agua. Según nos alejemos del 100% el aire estará más seco. Como Ps aumenta con la temperatura la humedad relativa disminuirá en la misma proporción. Es decir, el aire tendrá menor humedad relativa cuando esté más caliente, aunque contenga la misma cantidad de vapor (la misma humedad absoluta, por ejemplo), y cuanto más alta sea la temperatura más difícilmente se producirá la saturación. La temperatura o punto de rocío es una medida de la humedad del ambiente La presión de saturación del vapor de agua a la temperatura de rocío es la presión parcial de vapor de agua del ambiente. Temperatura a la que debe enfriarse el aire (manteniendo constante su presión y su contenido en vapor) para alcanzar la saturación. PUNTO DE ROCÍO: Ejemplo. Es decir en un lugar sombrío y al abrigo de corrientes de aire. El bulbo del termómetro se mantiene directamente al aire Para medir la temperatura de bulbo húmedo se usa el mismo tipo de termómetro pero se realiza la siguiente operación. Se llena un pequeño vaso con agua. Se introduce en el agua una sustancia porosa como una buena cantidad de algodón y un trozo de tela natural pero siempre de forma que parte esté sumergida en el agua y otra parte quede fuera del agua. El bulbo del termómetro se colocará rodeado de la tela o el algodón que sobresalga del agua. Cuando se rodea el bulbo del termómetro con el algodón o tela lo estamos rodeando de una sustancia que esta humedecida. El aire circulante en la atmósfera 'choca' con el algodón humedecido y evapora parte del agua . Al evaporar el agua debe absorber el calor latente de vaporización y lo hace robado calor al bulbo del termómetro. Entonces la temperatura del termómetro desciende continuamente hasta que el aire de los alrededores se satura, es decir, no admite más vapor de agua ENTONCES LA TEMPERATURA PERMANECE EN UN VALOR FIJO QUE SE DENOMINA TEMPERATURA DEL BULBO HÚMEDO. En particular, la mayoría de las aplicaciones se refieren al aire húmedo, considerado como la mezcla de aire seco y vapor de agua. La psicrometría resulta entonces útil en -Diseño y análisis de sistemas de almacenamiento y procesado de alimentos -Diseño de equipos de refrigeración -Estudio del secado de alimentos, -Estudios de aire acondicionado y climatización -Torres de enfriamiento -Procesos industriales que exijan un fuerte control del contenido de vapor de agua en el aire. EN ESTOS DIAGRAMAS, CADA ESTADO DEL AIRE VENDRÁ REPRESENTADO POR UN PUNTO, Y CADA PROCESO PSICROMÉTRICO POR UNA LÍNEA. SE CONSIGUE ASÍ UNA ESTIMACIÓN RÁPIDA Y PRECISA DE LA INFORMACIÓN NECESARIA EN EL ESTUDIO Y DISEÑO DE EQUIPOS O PROCESOS RELACIONADOS CON LA PSICROMETRÍA.
