Ever since, it has been distinguished by its contribution to the academic debate of Social Sciences about relevant issues of Latin America. The purpose of Perfiles Latinoamericanos is to spread Social Sciences original research whose object of study is Latin America. This journal only accepts unpublished contributions, product of original research in the aforementioned fields, aimed to study Latin America, or cases located in the region. The main sections of the publication are: essays, book reviews and articles. The articles and essays are published in open access after a highly rigorous double‐blind peer review process.
