We are studying...
Throughout this unit, we will study rocks, minerals, and soil, which make up the
lithosphere. We will classify and identify different types of rocks, minerals, and soil as
well as use our knowledge of rocks, minerals, and soil to decode the past.
- I can explain how soil forms at different rates
(environmental conditions, types of existing bedrock, and
rates of weathering).
- I can define soil horizon
- I can organize soil horizons by their properties (texture,
color composition, permeability and porosity).
