Baptismal Guidelines
Welcome to St. Anthony’s Church. We congratulate you on the birth of your new baby. May the blessing of God
be with you during this special time. We’d like to be part of the celebration of your child’s baptism. To help
facilitate this, please follow these guidelines. Baptisms will be celebrated in the “Old” Church located at 1060 F.
Street, Reedley, CA.
1. Please come in and register for baptism at the Church office, the child must be registered at least 16 days
(2 complete WEEKS) prior to the anticipated baptismal day. Registration fee will be paid in the Parish
Office at the time of Registration.
• Pre-Baptismal Class must be completed by Parents and Sponsors prior to Registration. You will
need to provide proof of attendance.
• Make Sure to bring your child’s “County Birth Certificate”
• $60.00 dollars registration fee and registration form due at the time of registration.
We do not accept checks. Cash or Money Order Only please (No Refunds).

To be admitted to the role of sponsor(Godparent), a person must:
• Be a Catholic who has been Confirmed and has already received the sacrament of the Most
Holy Eucharist and leads a life of harmony with the faith and role to be undertaken. There
are normally to be two godparents: one man and one women.
• If “married (living as a couple)”, they must be married in the Catholic Church – (civil
marriage only is not acceptable).
• Not be bound by any canonical penalty legitimately imposed or declared.
• Not be the father or the mother of the one to be baptized.
3. Pre-Baptismal Class MUST BE COMPLETED by Parents and Sponsors prior to Registration.
No pre-registration required, therefore, it is imperative that you arrive on time. If no one is at the
church at 8pm for the class, the class will be cancelled.
**Spanish Classes are offered in the “Old Church” at 8:00 pm sharp on the first
and third Wednesday of the Month.
**English Classes are offered in the “old Church” at 8:00 pm sharp on the
second Wednesday of the Month.
4. Ordinarily you may baptize your child on a Saturday, unless your child is seven years of age or older.
If the child is six years of age or older he or she must attend catechism classes.
**Baptisms will be celebrated in the “Old” St. Anthony’s Church (limited to 20 children)
at 10:00 A.M. Saturdays (All are Subject to Change):
English: Second & Fourth Saturday
Spanish: First, Third and Fifth Saturday

Please be on time the day of your child’s baptism. Tardiness may cancel your child’s baptism for the day.
If you will be unable to attend a scheduled baptism, please come to the office and re-schedule as soon as
possible prior to the baptismal date.
6. It is very important that you receive your Baptism Certificate the day of your child’s baptism, otherwise, it
will be presumed that your child was not baptized and it will not be recorded.
7. All photographs will be taken at the discretion of the celebrant.
Family members and friends may take photos. There will be no photographs taken at the altar.

Regulaciones Bautismales
Bienvenidos a la Iglesia San Antonio de Padua y felicidades por el nacimiento de su bebe. Que el Señor los
bendiga. Ahora queremos ser parte de la celebración del bautismo. Por favor cumpla los requisitos para mayor
satisfacción de todos. Los Bautizmos serán celebrados en la Parroquia “Antigua” localizado en 1060 F St. Reedley.
1) Por favor vengan y regístrense para el bautizo de sus niños en la oficina Parroquial
por lo menos 16 Días (2 semanas completas) de anticipacióncon las pruebas de:
• Los Padres y Padrinos necesitan asistir una de las clases pre-bautismales antes de registrar para Bautizar
su hijo(a). Necista traer la prueba de que asistió una de las clases Pre-Bautismales para registrar su
Nino(a) para el Bautismo. El costo de las clases esta incluyido en la registración.
• Necesita Traer la forma de Regitracion y la Acta de Nacimiento del Niño(a) para registrarlo(a).
• El costo para registrar es de $60.00, pagado al tiempo de Registrara su Niño(a).
No se aceptan cheques. No habrá reembolsos.
2) Requisitos Para ser Padrinos:
• Deben haber recibido los Sacramentos de Bautismo, Primera Comunión y Confirmación en la
Iglesia Católica y ser praticante para que puedan dar ejemplo de una buena vida católica.
• Si están “casados(viviendo como una pareja)”: tienen que estar casados por la Iglesia Católica
(estar casado por civil solamente no es suficiente).
• Normalmente hay dos padrinos: un hombre y una mujer.
• Las personas de otra religión solo podrán ser testigos, no padrinos.
3) Los Padres y Padrinos NECESITAN asistir las las platicas Pre-Bautismals antes de proceder al registro.
El costo esta incluyido en la registraction para el Bautismo. No se requiere la inscripción, por lo tanto,
deben llegar a tiempo. Si nadie está en la iglesia a las 8 pm para la clase, la clase será cancelada.
** Las Clases Pre-Bautismales en Español son ofrecidos en la "Iglesia Antigua" el
primer y tercer miércoles del mes. Clases empiezan a las 8 pm exacto.
** Las Clases en Pre-Bautismales en Inglés son ofrecidos en la "Iglesia Antigua" el
segundo miércoles del mes a las 8pm.
4) Regularmente, usted puede bautisar a su niño/a en un sábado. Los niños que tengan siete años de edad o
mayores necesitan recibir instrucción en la Iglesia Catolica (clases de la doctrina) antes de ser bautisado.
**Los Bautismos serán a las 10:00 AM Sábados en la Iglesia “Antigua” (Puede Ver Cambios)/(limitado a 20 Niños)
Los Bautismos en Español: Primer, Tercer y Quinto Sábado
Los Bautismos en Ingles: Segundo y Cuarto Sábado
5) Por favor llegue con tiempo. El llegar tarde puede causar que su bautizo sea
Cancelado por ese día. Si usted no puede asistir a un bautizo programado, por favor venga a la Oficina para
reprogramar la fecha del Bautismo tan pronto como sea posible antes de la fecha bautismal.
6) Todas las fotografías serán tomadas a discreción del celebrante. Miembros de su familia o amistades
pueden tomar fotos para su conveniencia. Se prohíbe tomar fotos en el altar.
7) Es muy importante que reciba su certificado de bautizo el día que se recibe el
Sacramento o se supondrá que su hijo/hija no fue bautizado y no quedara registrado en los archivos.
