Catholic Home Missions Appeal
The Catholic Home Missions Appeal will take place on February 21
& 22. There are over 80 home mission dioceses in the United States.
These dioceses are unable to fund essential pastoral work, such as
religious education, seminarian formation, and lay ministry training.
Because of this, they are unable to attend to the unique needs of the
communities they serve without outside help. Through your support,
the Catholic Home Missions Appeal helps to ease the struggle of these
dioceses and helps them form vibrant faith communities. Please help
strengthen the Church at home by giving generously to this Appeal.

the Black and Indian Mission
The Black and Indian Mission (BIM) exists to help diocesan communities
to build the Church and preach the Gospel of Jesus among the
African American, Native American, and Alaska Native people of God.
Every year, it is the amazing generosity of Catholic faithful just like you who enable the Black
and Indian Mission Office to support the following important priorities:
• Many people benefit from your support of the BIM.
• Students in the small mission school in the Deep South.
• The Catholic community served by a native deacon in Alaska.
• The Native American parish on the prairie. Your support helps all of them come to know Jesus.
• The BIM helps get good teachers in schools that would otherwise struggle to stay open.
• Funding from the BIM helps dioceses form lay ministers and catechists to spread the
Gospel in their own communities.
• Supporting the BIM helps encourage young African Americans and Native Americans
to give their lives to the Lord as priests, brothers, or sisters.

La colecta para las Misiones Católicas se llevará a cabo el 21 y 22 de febrero.
Hay más de 80 diócesis misioneras en los Estados Unidos. A estas diócesis
no les es posible financiar las labores pastorales básicas como la educación
religiosa, la formación de seminaristas y la capacitación de ministros
laicos. Por ello, no pueden responder a las necesidades particulares de las
comunidades a las cuales sirven sin contar con una ayuda externa. Gracias
a su apoyo, el Llamado para las Misiones Católicas ayuda a aliviar las
dificultades que atraviesan estas diócesis y las ayuda a formar comunidades
de fe llenas de vida. Por favor, ayude a fortalecer la Iglesia en casa
atendiendo generosamente a este llamado.

LAS MISIONES AFROAMERICANAS E INDÍiGENAS
La Colecta para las Misiones Afro-Americanas e Indígenas (CMAI) existe para
ayudar a comunidades diocesanas a edificar la Iglesia y a predicar el Evangelio
de Jesús entre los afro-americanos, nativo americanos y nativos de Alaska,
comunidades que también forman parte del pueblo de Dios. Cada año, la
generosidad increíble de los fieles católicos como usted, permite a la Oficina
de las Misiones Afro-Americanas e Indígenas apoyar las siguientes prioridades:
• Muchas personas se benefician con su apoyo a la CMAI.
• Los estudiantes de la pequeña escuela misionera en el Sur Profundo.
• La comunidad católica servida por un diácono nativo en Alaska.
• La parroquia nativo americana en la llanura. Su apoyo ayuda a todas estas personas
a conocer a Jesús.
• La CMAI ayuda a traer a buenos profesores a las escuelas que de lo contrario lucharían
para permanecer abiertas.
• El financiamiento de la CMAI ayuda a las diócesis a formar a ministros laicos y a
catequistas para proclamar el Evangelio en sus propias comunidades.
• Apoyar a la CMAI ayuda a alentar a jóvenes afro-americanos y nativo americanos a dar
sus vidas al Señor como sacerdotes, hermanos o hermanas.
