A+B AB + H2O Enzyme Dehydration Synthesis Sintesis mediante Desidratacion If an enzyme is added to the reaction, then it will speed up the reaction. Si una enzima se agrega a la reacción, acelerará la reacció In other words, we will produce AB more quickly. En otras palabras se producira AB mas rapido What is a Catalyst? Que es un catalizador? A catalyst is any substance that speeds up a chemical reaction without itself being changed. Un catalizador es cualquier sustancia que acelera una reacción química sin cambiarse a si mismo. Las enzimas son catalizadores organicos porque estan compuestas de proteinas. Why are enzymes called organic catalysts? They are PROTEINS!!
