El Tiempo Perfecto por Carolina Veltri Español Dos Haber + Participio = El Perfecto • HABER=“to have,” a helping verb Yo he comido. I have eaten. • DON’T confuse with TENER, “to have, to own” Yo tengo dinero. I have money. How to Conjugate HABER • Yo • Tú • Él/ella/usted • Nosotros • Ellos/Ellas he + participio has + participio ha + participio hemos + participio han + participio The 2-word phrase starts with H and ends with O. HO-HO-HO. PerfectO. El Perfecto • HABER is only a helping verb. We need another verb to show what we HAVE done. • In EL TIEMPO PERFECTO, the participio comes after HABER. PARTICIPIO of –er –ir Verbs • To say what we have done, use a form of HABER + el participio. –Er or -ir participios use the ending: -ido • He comido. I have eaten. • Has vivido. You have lived. • Ha querido. She has wanted. • Hemos venido. We have come. PARTICIPIO for –ar Verbs ends in -ADO. • • • • • He comprado. I have bought. Has dado. You have given. Ha parado.
