A special person: Baruti Kaleb
Baruti Kaleb was born in Johannesburg in 1962. He was the fourth of eleven
children. His father was a teacher and his mother worked as a cleaning woman for
rich people. When Baruti was at school, one of his friends lost his parents, and
moved to an orphanage because he had no other family members to live with.
Baruti visited his friend at the orphanage and felt very sorry for the children there.
So he decided to work with orphans, to try to give them a good life.
Beruti met his wife Lerato in 1987, and they got married in 1990. The opened and
orphanage in 1996 near Johannesburg, and they still work together. The started
with eleven children and now they have sixty- three children living in the
orphanage.
