El cuarteto Callino se formó en el Festival de Músca de Cámara de West Cork en 1999 y su
concierto debut fué un gran éxito. Su carácter así como su aproximación a la música fresca
y entusiasta impresionaron al público nacional y extranjero.
Han tocado con muchos músicos como los cuartetos Belcea y Vogler así como con el contrabajista Edgar Meyer, el pianista Barry Douglas, la banda de rock The Arcade Fire y el
guitarrista de Jazz John Abercrombie. Ha encargado y estrenado obras de Ian Wilson,
Raymond Deane, Ronan Guilfoyle, Kimmo Hakola y, asimismo, han trabajado en estrecha
colaboración con Edgar Meyer, Peteris Vasks y Franghiz Ali-Zadeh en sus trabajos para
cuarteto de cuerda. El año pasado lanzaron su primer CD con obras de Ian Wilson en el sello
River run.
El cuarteto Callino toca regularmente en los principales auditorios y festivales de Irlanda y
el reino Unido como el Wigmore Hall, National Concert Hall Dublin, Clandeboye
Festival, West Cork Chamber Music Festival y el Cheltenham Festival. Han tocado en
Canada, Noruega, Hungría, Italia, Lituania, Alemania, Austria, Suiza y la República
Checa. Graban regularmente para radio y televisión y está particularmente orgulloso de su
Festival de Pascua en Cork.
El cuarteto toma su nombre de la melodía irlandesa “Cailin cois tSuir a me” que significa
“Chica por el ro Suir”. Esta canción fue la primera melodía irlandesa en ser escrita en lo que
pronto fue conocido como Manuscrito Callino, actualmente depositado en la biblioteca del
Trinity College de Dublín.
Han trabajado frecuentemente con John Whibley “H olidayswith M usic”que les ha esponsorizado una grabación y gira de conciertos en el Reino Unido en noviembre de este año

Jonathan Rimmer estudió en el RNCM, fué finalista en la Shell LSO Competition y, en
1990, ganó el premio en la sección de viento madera de BBC Young Musician of the Year.
Como solista ha realizado dos giras con la European Community Chamber Orchestra y en
América ha tocado en espacios como el Lincoln Centre, Time Warner Centre and the
United Nations, New York.
Ha tocado en muchos festivales incluyendo City of London Festival, Chischester Festivites
y por todo el Reino unido.
Es fundador y Flauta Principal del Ensaemble Cymru con quien ha trabajado casi veinte

Harvey Davies comenzó a tocar el piano a los tres año. Fue niño de coro en el New College,
Oxford, donde consiguió una beca de música para trabajar en el Marlborough College. Harvey
estudió piano con Helen Davies y David Parkhouse; más tarde, enre 1983 y 1987, con

H elen and H arvey D aviesson un dúo de madre e hijo pianistas. Varios compositores han

Oxford,then wentwith a top M usicScholarship toM arlborough College.H arvey studied thepiano
with H elen D avies and D avid Parkhouse before going to Ryszard Bakst at the Royal N orthern
CollegeofM usicfrom 1983 to1987.In 1990 H arvey gavehisSouth Bank debutduring thePark
Lane Group’s prestigiouscontemporary musicseriesand hasperformed atmostoftheU K’ssignificantvenues.H arvey isestablished asa finechambermusician and accompanist.H ehasworked with

SAMUEL DIZ (guitarra / guitar)
Samuel Diz Sierpes nace en Tui (España) en 1986. Considerado por la crítica como “un
artista que siente la música, que vive la música, que respira la música, es la música”, es premiado en diferentes concursos de guitarra nacionales e internacional en España, Portugal e
Italia. Como reconocimiento a su entrega artística recibe la Insignia de Oro de “Temas
Sevillanos”, institución cultural reconocida y galardona por la Unesco; y el Premio “Andrés
Segovia – Ruiz Morales”, por su especial interpretación de la Música Española.
Tras comenzar su educación musical en su ciudad natal, estudia en el Conservatorio
Superior de Música “Manuel Castillo” de Sevilla con Gaëlle Solal, donde se gradúa en 2009.
Posteriormente continúa su formación musical con Alen Garagic y Daekun Jang.
Paralelamente a su actividad artística, realiza un Posgrado de Gestión Musical en la
Universitat Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona, siendo en la actualidad Director Artístico de
Música en el Claustro, festival que se celebra en la S. I. Catedral de Tui; y Director Ejecutivo
de Creatudisco.com
Samuel Diz Sierpes también colabora con la revista de guitarra clásica “Roseta”, editada por
la Sociedad Española de la Guitarra, con la revista “Diferencias”, editada por el
