THE COURSE
Over the span of a week, this course offers advanced training in
litigation, research, law and innovative strategies for
implementing social rights. The training will be guided by
academics and jurists who are recognized in Latin America and
other regions, providing conceptual, doctrinal and socio-legal
tools to understand and promote the implementation of social
and economic rights nationally, regionally and globally. The
course is part of the series of the Global School of Social Rights,
which is held in different regions of the world. The Latin
American course is organized by the Center for Law, Justice and
Society (Dejusticia).
The course will be taught in Spanish and will include plenary
sessions, discussions in small groups based on the interests of
students, and a simulation exercise. It is aimed at graduate students,
activists, litigants, academics, judges and public policy makers.
APPLICATIONS
Those interested must fill out the application form at
www.globalschool.co and email a CV (2 pages maximum) to
[email protected] no later than July 24, 2016.
REGISTRATION FEE
The registration fee is $800 USD per participant, which includes
the cost of registration, course materials and coffee, a welcome
dinner and a farewell event. Participants are responsible for any
other expenses.
Once your participation in the course has been confirmed,
registration fees must be paid by August 31, 2016.
After this date, participants who have paid, but for some
reason can no longer participate, can apply for a refund.
All refund requests will be charged a $100 USD administrative
handling fee.
INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPANTS
International participants are responsible for applying for their
own visas if necessary.

FUNDING
There are 10 partial scholarships to cover the cost of tuition, travel, and or stay. Applicants who wish to be considered for these
scholarships must submit a letter of recommendation and indicate the reasons for requiring financial assistance. Scholarships
will be prioritized for applicants from Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia with experience in social activism and
community work.

EL CURSO
A lo largo de una semana, este curso ofrece una formación
avanzada en litigio, investigación, jurisprudencia y estrategias
innovadoras de implementación de derechos sociales. Dictado
por académicos y juristas reconocidos de América Latina y otras
regiones, provee herramientas conceptuales, doctrinales y
socio-jurídicas para comprender e impulsar la aplicación de los
derechos sociales y económicos en las instancias nacionales,
regionales y universales.
El curso hace parte de la serie de la Escuela Global de Derechos
Sociales, que se dicta en diferentes regiones del mundo. La
versión latinoamericana es organizada por el Centro de Estudios
de Derecho, Justicia y Sociedad (Dejusticia).
El curso es dictado en español y combina sesiones plenarias,
discusiones en grupos pequeños según los intereses de los
estudiantes, además de un ejercicio de simulación. Está dirigido
a estudiantes de posgrado, litigantes, académicos, jueces y
hacedores de políticas públicas.

Las personas interesadas deberán diligenciar el formulario de

COSTO DE INSCRIPCIÓN
El costo de inscripción es de 800 dólares por participante, los cuales
incluyen el costo del registro, los materiales del curso, cafés, eventos de
bienvenida y despedida. Los participantes son responsables por
cualquier otro gasto.
Una vez confirmada la participación en el curso los costos de inscripción
deben ser pagados antes del 31 de agosto de 2016. Luego de esta
fecha, a las personas inscritas que no puedan participar les será
descontada una cuota administrativa de 100 dólares.
PARTICIPANTES INTERNACIONALES
Los participantes internacionales serán responsables de aplicar a visa en
caso de requerirlo.

FINANCIACIÓN
Existe un número limitado de becas parciales (10 becas) para cubrir la matrícula, los pasajes y/o la estadía. Los postulantes
que quieran ser considerados para estas becas deberán presentar una carta de recomendación, así como señalar los motivos
por los cuales requieren asistencia financiera. Las becas estarán dirigidas principalmente a personas provenientes de
Latinoamérica, África o el Sureste asiático con experiencia en activismo social o trabajo con comunidades.
