DESCRIPCIÓN: La nitazoxanida es un antiparasitario utilizado como tratamiento para una gran variedad de parásitos,
incluso protozoarios y helmintos que infectan el aparato digestivo del ser humano.
INDICACIONES: REAKT® está indicado para el tratamiento de la amebiasis intestinal aguda o disentería amebiana causada
por Entamoeba histolytica.
Es un antihelmíntico efectivo contra nemátodos, céstodos y tremátodos, por lo que se indica en el tratamiento de Enterobius
vermicularis, Ascaris lumbricoides y Strongyloides stercoralis, Necator americanus, Ancylostoma duodenale, Trichuris trichiura,
Taenia saginata, Taenia solium, Hymenolepis nana y Fasciola hepatica.
Está indicado en el tratamiento de la giardiasis causada por Giardia lamblia y tricomoniasis sintomática, en pacientes con presencia
confirmada de Trichomonas vaginalis. Tricomoniasis asintomática, cuando el organismo se asocia con endocervicitis, cervicitis
y erosiones cervicales.
La tricomoniasis vaginal se considera una enfermedad sexualmente trasmitida, por lo que la pareja sexual asintomática debe
ser tratada simultáneamente.

DESCRIPTION : Nitazoxanide is an antiparasitical used as treatment for a great variety of parasites, including potrozoa and
helminths that infect the human digestive system.
INDICATIONS: REAKT® is indicated for the treatment of the acute intestinal amebiasis or dysentery caused by Entamoeba
histolytica.
It is an anthelmintic effective against nematode, cestode and tremate, so it is indicated in the treatment of Enterobius vermicularis,
Ascaris lumbricoides and Strongyloides stercoralis, Necator americanus, Ancylostoma duodenale, Trichuris trichiura, Taenia
saginata, Taenia solium, Hymenolepis nana and Fasciola hepatica.
It is indicated in the treatment of giardiasis caused by Giardia lamblia and symptomatic trichomoniasis, in patients with confirmed
presence of trichomonas vaginalis. Asymptomatic trichomoniasis, when the organism is associated with endocervicitis, cervicitis
and cervical erosions. In this case, and because the vaginal trichomoniasis is considered a sexually transmitted sickness,
the asymptomatic sexual couple should be treated simultaneously.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to medicine.

PRECAUTIONS: Pregnancy and nursing. Children under 2 years old.
PRECAUCIONES: Embarazo y lactancia. Niños menores de 2 años.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: The concomitant use with cumarinic agents and warfarin may increase the plasmatic levels of these
last ones, prolonging the prothrombin time.
INTERACCIONES MEDICAMENTOSAS: El empleo con cumarínicos y warfarina puede incrementar los niveles plasmáticos
de estos últimos, alargando el tiempo de protrombina.
REACCIONES ADVERSAS: Los efectos adversos son leves y se localizan a nivel gastrointestinal. Se presentan ocasionalmente,
siendo los más frecuentes, vómito, diarrea y debilidad. Puede presentarse ocasionalmente salpullido, y coloración amarillenta
asintomática en la orina, e incluso del eyaculado y escleróticas, estos efectos adversos desaparecen al finalizar el tratamiento.
DOSIS:
Tabletas recubiertas: Giardiasis, amebiasis (quistes y trofozoitos), tricomoniasis, helmintiasis: Hombres y mujeres 1 tableta
recubierta de 500 mg cada 12 horas durante 3 días consecutivos. En el tratamiento de tricomoniasis y con el objeto de evitar
infecciones reiteradas, deberá tratarse simultáneamente a la pareja sexual, aún cuando estuviera asintomática.
Suspensión reconstituida: Giardiasis, amebiasis (quistes y trofozoitos), tricomoniasis, helmintiasis:
7.5 mg/kg cada 12 horas por 3 días o 1 a 2 cucharaditas (100-200 mg) del producto reconstituido.
Teniasis: dosis única de 45 mg/kg de Nitazoxanida polvo para suspensión oral 100 mg/5 mL.
ALMACENAMIENTO: En lugar fresco y seco (15-30ºC). Una vez preparada la suspensión, guardar en refrigeración por no más
de 7 días, después de ese período, desechar el medicamento sobrante.

ADVERSE REACTIONS: The most commonly adverse events are gastrointestinal complications, including vomiting,
diarrhea and weakness.
Occasionally rash can be observed an asymptomatic yellowish coloration in urine, and also from ejaculation and sclerotic, which
disappear when treatment finishes.
DOSAGE:
Coated tablets: Giardiasis, amebiasis (cysts and trofozoo) trichomoniasis, helminthiasis in adults: 1 coated tablet (500 mg) every
12 hours during three days. For the treatment of trichomoniasis and in order to avoid a relapse, a similar dosage must be
simultaneosly administered to the asymptomatic sexual couple.
Reconstituted suspension: Giardiasis, amebiasis (cysts and trofozoo), trichomoniasis, helminthiasis in children: 7.5 mg/kg every
12 hours during three days, or 1-2 teaspoon (100-200 mg) of the reconstituted suspension.
Teniasis: a single dose of 45 mg/kg of Nitazoxanide powder for oral suspension 100 mg / 5 mL.
STORAGE: Store in a cool and dry place(15-30ºC). Once you have prepared the suspension, keep in the refrigerator no more
than 7 days, after that period, throw leftover medication away.
RECONSTITUTION INSTRUCTIONS:

3. Vierta la mitad del diluyente al frasco
que contiene el polvo.

4. Agitar vigorosamente el frasco hasta
conseguir una suspensión homogénea

reconstitution.
5. Vierta el diluyente restante y vuelva a agitar
para completar la suspensión.
NOTA: Si por accidente, derrama o pierde
parcial o totalmente el diluyente, puede utilizar
agua hervida fría para reconstituir, debe
agregar el agua hasta la señal indicada en la
etiqueta y agitar el frasco.
