Objective: To compare the adverse effects of selective and non-selective COX2 inhibitors NSAIDs. Materials and methods: An experimental study was made with selective and no-selective COX2 inhibitors NSAIDs chose according to the results of previous surveys conducted in drugstores and pharmacies of Lima. We considered a selective COX2 inhibitor (Celecoxib 200 mg dose of 2,9 mg / kg administered 0,65mg / day for a week) and non selective (Naproxen 250 mg at a dose of 23,6 mg / kg administered 5,2 mg / day for about a week). We used 23 male albino rats distributed into 3 groups: 10 rats for selective COX2, 10 rats for nonselective NSAIDs, and 3 rats as control. We evaluated the degree of harmfulness in different organs such as stomach, liver and kidney, performing cuts at the Children Hospital with help of pathology and the interpretation of samples by the pathologist of 2 de Mayo Hospital. Results: Both Naproxen and Celecoxib were not so much aggressive on the gastric mucous in short period of administration (a week), since there were no ulcers or erosions at this level, but it was shown that rats after exposure to the drugs had a measurable signs of immunosuppression. Conclusion: We believed that these drugs caused immune suppression because we found hyphae and pseu-dohyphae in the gastrointestinal tract and there is also alteration of organs as: liver, kidney and lung due to NSAIDs administered compared to the control group, being more aggressive Naproxen than Celecoxib. Key words: AINES, COX2, celecoxib, naproxeno. 18
