The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) invites you to attend
a presentation on:
UNDERSTANDING MEDICATIONS
FOR YOUR STUDENT: USE, EFFECTIVENESS AND
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

This presentation will provide an overview of prescription medications often
recommended for children with attention deficits and other behavior symptoms. Dr.
Jensen will address common questions often asked by parents regarding medications:
How do they work? How do I know if my child truly needs them? What are the side
effects and potential impacts of use over time?
Dr. Jensen is board certificated in Child Psychiatry, Adult Psychiatry, and Behavioral
Neurology. He serves as the Medical Director of the International Bipolar Foundation,
has a private practice of Child Psychiatry in San Diego and is an assistant professor with
UCSD Department of Psychiatry. Doctor Jensen did his undergraduate work at the
University of San Diego and graduated from UCLA School of Medicine.

La presentación cubrirá medicamentos con prescripción que a veces son recomendados
para niños con síndrome de déficit de atención y otros síntomas de comportamiento. El
Doctor Jensen dirigirá su atención a preguntas que los padres típicamente hacen en cuanto
a los medicamentos. ¿Cómo trabajan? ¿Cómo se que mi hijo/a en realidad los necesita?
¿Cuales son los efectos secundarios y impactos que potencialmente pueden tener al
usarlos através de largo tiempo?
Dr. Jensen es parte del consejo de Psiquiatría Infantil, Psiquiatría de Adultos y
Neurología de Comportamiento y el Director Medico de la Fundación Bipolar
Internacional. Actualmente esta practicando en el sector privado de San Diego en
psiquiatría para niños y es un profesor asistente en UCSD en el departamento de
psiquiatría. El Doctor Jensen obtuvo su diplomado en la Universidad de San Diego y se
gradúo de la escuela de medicina en UCLA.
