Home-School Connection Dear Family Member: Word Workout WORDS TO KNOW challenge healthy manage perfect satisfy scratch TV Ads Let’s take a look at each word. What kind of product would use that word in its advertisements? We can make up an ad for each word. SPELLING WORDS child fight right tight bright might mild find buy fry dye sky ties pie Rhyme and Spell Let’s have some fun and use the spelling words to make rhyming sentences. For example, “There’s pie in the sky.” I’ll repeat the rhyming sentence and ask you to spell the rhyming words. © Macmillan/McGraw-Hill flight (fold here) appetite The Perfect Pet is a funny story with a problem—Elizabeth wants a pet while her parents do not. I’m learning that many stories begin with a problem and end with a solution. It looks like Elizabeth is very determined and is going to do many things to get a pet.
