SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
In order to use this product correctly, read these instructions carefully. Please keep instructions for
future reference.
BEFORE USE
1. Make sure the unit is secured properly on the desk by the suction cap.
2. Insert plug into socket and switch on.
HOW TO USE
1. Select lead sharpness by lead adjuster (turn to the left = sharp – turn to the right = blunt).
2. Insert pencil into aperture.
3. When the pencil is sharpened, motor automatically stops.
4. How to use jam release button (fig.2):
When lead is broken or a short pencil is stuck in the aperture, please use this button as follows:
a) Remove chip tray and discard all shavings.
b) Replace chip tray.
c) Hold the unit firmly and push the jam release button, as motor starts working and jammed lead
or pencil falls out.
WARNING
- Hazardous moving parts, keep fingers and body parts away.
- The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
CAUTION
1. Do not sharpen too many pencils without a break. When a pencil is inserted do not push the
pencil until the pencil cannot be sharpened, as the motor will keep rotating. This machine will
sharpen up to 50-60 pencils when, for safety purposes, a thermo stat cuts in and cuts off the
power supply. If this happens, pull the pencil out of the sharpener and leave the unit for a few
minutes to cool down.
2. f the unit does not work for any other reason, please do no disassemble, consult the DESQ
International Service Department.
3. If soft leaded pencils are used the lead may break and get stuck. To release, use the jam
release button.
4. Please use suitable voltage – 220/240V.
5. Make sure you insert the chip tray properly as this operates the micro safety switch.
CLEANING
To clean, turn off power, remove the plug and wipe with a damp sort cloth. DO NOT use any
cleaning chemicals.
NOTES
Please take notice of the following points:
a) Keep the machine clean
b) Any maintenance, turn off the power supply and remove the plug.
c) DO NOT insert fingers into the pencil aperture or area if chip tray is removed.
d) Do not modify in any way, this will invalidate the guarantee.
e) Do not place any objects on top of the unit.
f) Only use to sharpen pencils.
g) Keep the unit dry.

INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD
Para su correcta utilización, lea este manual cuidadosamente. Por favor guarde estas
instrucciones para futuras consultas.
VEILIGHEIDSAANWIJZINGEN
Lees deze gebruiksaanwijzing aandachtig door voordat u de machine gaat gebruiken. Bewaar
deze gebruiksaanwijzing goed!
ANTES DE SU UTILIZACIÓN
1. Compruebe que la unidad quede fijada correctamente sobre una mesa o un escritorio mediante
las ventosas.
2. Conecte la clavija en un enchufe.
VÒÒR GEBRUIK
1. Zorg er voor dat de machine stevig vast staat met behulp van de zuignapjes aan de onderzijde.
2. Steek de stekker in het stopcontact en zet de machine aan.
CÓMO UTILIZARLO
1. Seleccione el tipo de afilado mediante el selector de afilado. (Girando hacia la izquierda = más
afilado – Girando hacia la derecha = menos afilado).
2. Introduzca el lápiz por el orificio.
3. Cuando el lápiz esté afilado, el motor para automáticamente.
4. Cómo utilizar el botón para desatasco (fig. 2):
Cuando una mina se rompe o un lápiz pequeño quede clavado en el orificio, por favor use este
botón de manera siguiente:
a) saque y vacie el cajoncito de las virutas.
b) coloque de nuevo el cajoncito.
c) sostenga la unidad firmemente y presione el botón de desatasco hasta que el motor arranque y
la mina atascada o el lápiz caiga en el cajoncito.
ATENCIÓN
- Hay piezas peligrosas, mantenga los dedos y otras partes del cuerpo alejadas de ellas.
- Coloque el aparato cerca de un enchufe y de fácil acceso.
PRECAUCIÓN
1. No afile muchos lápices ininterrumpidamente. Una vez el lápiz esté afilado deje de presionar ya
que el motor se mantendría encendido. El sacapuntas afilará aproximadamente hasta 50 - 60
lápices continuadamente, entonces, por razones de seguridad, un termo-sensor desconectará
el motor. Si sucediera, extraiga el lápiz y deje enfriar el aparato durante varios minutos.
2. Si el sacapuntas dejara de funcionar por alguna u otra razón, por favor, no lo desmonte,
consulte al servicio técnico de DESQ International.
3. Si utiliza lápices con minas blandas, éstas se podrían quedar clavadas. Para extraerlas utilice el
botón de desatasco.
4. Por favor utilice el voltaje adecuado – 220/240V.
5. Compruebe que el cajoncito de las virutas quede bien ajustado para que haga contacto con el
micro sensor de seguridad.
MANTENIMIENTO
Para limpiar el sacapuntas, apague y desconecte el aparato y límpielo con un paño húmedo. NO
utilice productos químicos.
NOTAS
Por favor preste atención a los siguientes puntos:
a) Mantenga el sacapuntas limpio.
b) Para cualquier mantenimiento apague y desenchufe la unidad.
c) NO introduzca los dedos por el orificio de los lápices ni en el interior del aparato, cuando el
cajoncito de las virutas no esté en su lugar.
d) NO manipule en ningún caso ya que invalidaría su garantía.
e) NO coloque objetos encima del aparato.
f) Utilícelo sólo para afilar lápices.
g) Mantenga el aparato en un lugar seco.
BEDIENING
1. Stel de scherpte van de te slijpen punt in (naar links draaien = scherp, naar rechts draaien =
stomp).
2. Steek het potlood in de opening van de machine.
3. Wanneer het potlood geslepen is, stopt de machine automatisch.
4. Gebruik van de reset-knop voor het verwijderen van een afgebroken punt (fig. 2):
Wanneer de punt is afgebroken en/of wanneer er een kort stukje van een potlood vast zit in de
machine, gebruikt u de reset-knop als volgt.
a) Verwijder het opvangbakje en al het potloodslijpsel.
b) Stop het opvangbakje terug in de machine.
c) Houdt de machine stevig vast terwijl u de reset-knop voor het verwijderen van de knop indrukt:
de machine zal beginnen te werken en de potloodpunt valt er uit.
WAARSCHUWING
- Gevaarlijke, bewegende onderdelen: vermijdt contact met vingers.
- Zorg er voor dat het stopcontact zich dichtbij de machine bevindt en vrij toegankelijk is.
VOORZORG
1. Slijp niet teveel potloden achter elkaar door, zonder te pauzeren. Wanneer een potlood in de
machine zit, deze NIET doorduwen totdat slijpen niet meer mogelijk is omdat de machine blijft
werken. De machine slijpt ca. 50-60 potloden totdat, vanwege technische veiligheidsredenen,
de machine afslaat door middel van een thermische beveiliging. Mocht dit gebeuren, haalt u
dan het potlood uit de machine en laat de machine een paar minuten afkoelen.
2. Mocht de machine om een of andere reden niet meer werken, neemt u dan contact op met de
technische dienst van DESQ International (+31 (0)342-425352), probeer niet zelf de machine
te repareren!
3. Bij het slijpen van potloden met een zachte punt kan het voorkomen dat de punt afbreekt.
Gebruik dan de reset-knop om de punt te verwijderen.
4. Gebruik een 220/240 Volt aansluiting.
5. Zorg ervoor dat het slijpselbakje goed in de machine zit zodat de veiligheidsschakelaar wordt
ingeschakeld.
ONDERHOUD
Zet de machine uit, haal de stekker uit het stopcontact en neem de machine af met een vochtige
doek. Gebruik geen (chemisch) reinigingsmiddel!
LET OP!
a) Houdt de machine schoon.
b) Bij elk onderhoud: schakel de machine uit en haal de stekker uit het stopcontact.
c) Steek geen vingers in het apparaat wanneer het slijpselbakje is verwijderd.
d) Met iedere verandering aan het apparaat vervalt de garantie onmiddellijk.
e) Zet nooit iets op de machine.
f) Gebruik de machine alleen om potloden mee te slijpen.
g) Houdt de machine droog.

SICHERHEITSHINWEISE
AVANT L’USAGE
1. Assurez-vous que la machine est bien assemblé sur les ventouses.
2. Branchez la prise et mettez l’appareil en marche.
VORBEREITENDE ARBEITEN
1. Sorgtragen dass die Machine gut feststeht mit Hilfe von der Saugfüße an der Unterseite.
2. Netzstecker am Stromnetz anschließen.
COMMANDE
1. Réglez le tranchant de la pointe (à gauche = pointu, à droite = obtus).
2. Introduisez le crayon dans la ouverture de l’appareil.
3. Quand le crayon est taillé, l’appareil s’arrête automatiquement.
4. Utilisez la fonction RESET en cas de blocage, par suite d’une pointe ou une pièce de crayon.

Utilisez la fonction RESET de la suivante manière :
a) Enlevez et videz le récipient transparent.
b) Ensuite, placez le récipient dans sa position.
c) Tenez l’appareil bien et pressez sur la fonction RESET : l’appareil se mettra en marche et la
pointe ou le crayon se tombera.
BEDIENUNG
1. Stellen Sie die Schärfe der Spitze ein (zu der Linkerseite drehen = scharf; zu der Rechterseite
drehen = stumpf)
2. Bleistift in Spitzöffnung eingeben
3. Automatischer Spitzstop, bei Herausnahme des Bleistifts schalten Sie den Motor ab.
4. Reset-Knopf für entfernen der abgebrochene Spitze (fig. 2). Wenn die Spitze abgebrochen
ist und/ob wenn ein kurzes Stück des Bleistifts fest steckt in der Machine, benützen Sie den
Reset-Knopf wie volgt:
a) Entfern den Spankasten und alle Schleifsel
b) Zurücksetzen der Spankasten in der Machine
c) Machine gut festhalten weil Sie den Reset-Knopf eindrucken für entfernen der Spitze; die
Machine fängt wieder an zu funktioneren und die Spitze fällt heraus.
AVERTISSEMENT
- Les pièces qui sont en mouvement peuvent être dangereuses. Attention aux doigts.
- La prise doit être près l’appareil et bien accessible.
PRÉCAUTION
1. Ne taillez pas trop des crayons sans faire une pause. Quand un crayon est mis dans l’appareil,
ne pas pousser jusqu’au crayon ne peut pas être taillé pour que l’appareil restera en marche.
L’appareil peut tailler comme 50-60 crayons et après, par raisons techniques pour la sécurité,
l’appareil s’arrête grâce a une protection thermique. En tout cas, retirer votre crayon et laisser
se refroidir pendant quelques minutes.
2. Si l’appareil ne fonctionne plus, contactez le département de service de DESQ International.
Toute réparation doit être effectuée par un service après vente qualifié, sinon la garantie expire
immédiatement
3. Les crayons avec pointes doux se cassent plus faciles, si la pointe reste dans l’appareil, utilisez
la fonction RESET.
4. Vérifiez que la tension et la fréquence du réseau électrique correspondent aux 220/240V.
5. Vérifiez que le récipient est bien mis dans l’appareil pour activer interrupteur de sécurité.
ENTRETIEN
Débranchez l’appareil avant d’entretien. Utilisez seulement un chiffon humide, JAMAIS des
détergents !
ATTENTION !
a) Entretenez l’appareil
b) Avec chaque entretien : débranchez l’appareil avant.
c) Attention aux doigts quand le récipient est enlevé.
d) Toute réparation doit être effectuée par un service après vente qualifié, sinon la garantie expire
immédiatement
e) JAMAIS mettre quelque chose sur l’appareil
f) Utilisez l’appareil uniquement pour tailler des crayons.
g) Gardez dans une espace sec.

WARNUNG
- Gefährliche, bewegende Unterteile; Vermeiden Sie kontakt mit den Fingern
- Steckdose muß frei zugänglich sein.
VORSICHTSMAßNAHME
1. Nicht zuviel Bleistiften hinter einander schleifen, ohne zu pausieren. Wenn ein Bleistift
in der Machine feststeckt NICHT durchdrücken bis das schleifen nicht mehr möglich ist ,
weil die Machine funktioneren bleibt. Die Machine schleift ca. 50-60 Bleistiften bis zum,
wegen Technischen Sicherheitsgrunden, die Machine sich aussetzt mittels eine Thermische
Sicherung. Falls das passiert entfernen Sie den Bleistift und lassen die Machine abkühlen.
2. Falls die Machine nicht mehr funktioniert, nehmen Sie kontakt auf mit dem Technische Service
von DESQ International (+31 (0) 342 –425352) und nicht selbst reparieren.
3. Beim Schleifen von Bleistiften mit weicher Spitze kann es passieren daß die Spitze abbrecht.
Verwenden Sie dan den Reset-Knopf um die Spitze zu entfernen.
4. Stromnetz von 220/240 Volt verwenden.
5. Bitte sorgen Sie das der Spankasten richtig in der Machine steckt, so das der
Sicherheitsumschalter eingeschaltet wird.
PFLEGE
Schalten Sie die Machine aus! Stecker aus Steckdose nehmen und reinigen mit einem feuchtigen
Tuch. Kein (chemisches) Reinigungsmittel verwenden!
ACHTUNG
a) Machine sauber halten
b) Bei jeder Pflege: Machine ausschalten und Netzstecker aus der Steckdosen nehmen
c) Keine Finger in die Machine stecken wenn der Spankasten entfernt ist
d) Garantie verfällt sofort bei jeder Änderung an der Machine
e) NIEMALS etwas auf die Machine stellen
f) Machine nur verwenden für das Schleifen von Bleistiften
g) Machine trocken halten
