RÉPLICAS DE ACUERDO CON SO Y NEITHER (WB PAG. 4) Para expresar acuerdo usamos SO (también) en oraciones afirmativas y para las oraciones negativas usamos NEITHER (tampoco). Ejemplo: She has been studying hard. So have I. He came yesterday. SO did I. We won’t go there. Neither will he. Dependiendo del tiempo gramatical del verbo o auxiliar que se use en la primera oración, se construirá la otra frase. 2. TAG QUESTIONS. (WB PAG. 5) Son preguntas cortas que se colocan al final de la oración afirmativa o negativa y que tiene como objetivo confirmar o negar el contenido de la frase. Es el equivalente a ¿verdad? o ¿no? Ejemplos: It’s a beautiful day, isn’t it? William will be here soon, won’t he? Let’s go to the cinema, shall we? (Con Let´s siempre usaremos Shall) El auxiliar utilizado en la TAG debe ser el mismo tiempo verbal que la oración principal. Si la oración es positiva la TAG debe ser negativa y viceversa. 3. PREGUNTAS INDIRECTAS (WB PAG. 5) Son utilizadas para hacer nuestras preguntas más formales. Si en la pregunta directa existen auxiliares que se añaden exclusivamente para hacer preguntas (do, does, did), éstos desaparecen al pasar a ser una pregunta indirecta y el verbo es modificado dependiendo del auxiliar omitido. Si la pregunta directa es del tipo Yes/No question hay que añadir IF o WHETER al pasarla a indirecta. Ejemplos. Pregunta directa Pregunta indirecta Where can I find El Prado Could you tell me where I can find El Prado Museum? Museum? Did you travel on business?? I’d like to know if you travelled on business. When does the restaurant close? Do you know when the restaurant closes? What’s the matter ? Please tell me what the matter is. 4. PATRONES VERBALES: ( WB PAG. 9, 10, 11) Verbos compuestos que se forman empleando el infinitivo o el gerundio. Hay tres tipos de verbos acompañados de infinitivo. Algunos ejemplos son: Verb + infinitive Verb + (object –opcional) + Verb + Object + Infinitive infinitive aim, agree, arrange, ask, to go choose, expect, (me) to come Allow, challenge, choose, me to come attempt, begin, can’t to come help, need, pay, (you) to go dare, enable, encourage, you to go afford, continue, choose, to stay prefer, want (her) to stay force, inspire, invite, order, her to stay decide, dislike, forget, remind, teach, trust, warn. have, hope, intend., learn, love, mean, offer, plan, prepare, refuse, seem, say, tend, try. EL ESTILO INDIRECTO (WB PAGS. 16-17) El Reported speech o Estilo indirecto es una estructura que usamos cuando reportamos o hacemos mención sobre algo que alguien ha dicho previamente. Cuando usamos el estilo indirecto cambiamos los tiempos verbales, los verbos modales, las referencias de tiempo y lugar, y la estructura de las preguntas. "I live in Italy". She said that he lived in Italy. "They will help you". She said that they would help me. "We live here". They said that they lived there "Where do they sell the tickets?" He asked where they sold the tickets 6. LOS CONDICIONALES IRREALES (DOS TIPOS) (WB PG. 15) SEGUNDO TIPO (IMPROBABILIDAD) TERCER TIPO (IMPOSIBILIDAD) Para hablar de situaciones imaginarias o improbables Para expresar que una condición pasada que ya no se puede cumplir, cuando queremos hablar de situaciones imposibles (past simple / would + verb) (Past Perfect / modal + have + past participle) ‘If I won the lottery, I would be rich’ ‘If we had been more careful, we wouldn’t have had the ‘If I won the lottery, I could buy a new car’ accident’. ‘If you had come earlier, you could have seen her’ 7. TIEMPOS NARRATIVOS: (WB PGS. 22-23) Los tiempos narrativos son las estructuras gramaticales que se utilizan al contar una historia, o hablar de situaciones y actividades que sucedieron en un tiempo pasado definido. Ejemplos: Past simple - He played football every Tuesday Past continuous - He was playing football and she was watching. Past perfect – He had won five matches until that day. Past perfect continuous - 'We had been waiting to escape for what seemed ages' 8. FUTURE PERFECT AND FUTURE PROGRESSIVE (WB PG. 23) Future Perfect – Sirve para indicar la duración de una acción. Expresa una acción que terminara en un determinado momento del futuro. Suele ir acompañado de la preposición “by” Ejemplo: They will have written the novel by next month. Future Progressive- Sirve para indicar una acción que se desarrollara en el futuro. Pueden ser acciones o situación que se producirán en un determinado momento del futuro. Ejemplo: They will be leaving tomorrow. 9. VERBOS COMPUESTOS (PHRASAL VERBS) (WB PAG. 25) Los phrasal verbs son verbos compuestos por un verbo y una o más preposiciones. indicando una acción especifica. Algunos pueden separarse para incluir un sujeto u objeto entre el verbo y la preposición. HÁBITOS DEL PASADO. (WB PG 28 & 29) Significa “soler”, se usa para hablar sobre el pasado, acerca de algo que solíamos hacer hace tiempo pero que ya no hacemos. Usamos Used to para hablar de hábitos del pasado, de cosas que pasaban frecuentemente pero que ya dejaron de suceder, cosas que eran verdaderas pero dejaron de serlas y para descripciones físicas. Ejemplo: He used to smoke a lot, but he gave up. I used to go to school by bike, but now I go by car. Usamos would para hábitos en el pasado, para hablar de una actividad que se hacía con frecuencia en el pasado y cuando el tiempo de una actividad es mencionado. Ejemplo: In class, I would often sit at the back. We would go to the beach after school. 11. LA VOZ PASIVA (WB PG 35) Se dice que una oración está en VOZ PASIVA cuando queremos dar importancia a “lo que paso”; mas que quien hizo la acción. El complemento de la oración activa pasa a sujeto de la pasiva, el verbo principal se sustituye por el auxiliar “to be” + el verbo principal cambia a participio. (Subject + verb To be + past participle + complement) Ejemplos: Buenos Aires was founded by Pedro de Mendoza. The bags are carried by the reporter The documents are printed by the Director. VOCABULARIO. Necesitarás aprender todos los conceptos empleados en tu Workbook, de las primeras 6 unidades. Los apartados correspondientes están señalados como VOCABULARY, y consisten en dos o tres ejercicios por apartado. REPASO: Se espera que manejes todos los tiempos simples y compuestos (presente simple, continuo, y perfecto; pasado simple, continuo y perfecto; futuro simple, continuo y perfecto) en oraciones afirmativas, negativas e interrogativas. (WB U1 & U6) LECTURA: Será necesario que demuestres la habilidad de comprender la información general, contestar preguntas de comprensión, hallar información específica, entender el punto de vista de un autor, redactar escritos en base a la lectura y descubrir el significado de palabras nuevas a partir del contexto de la oración o párrafo.
