E.g.: We shall go to the beach next summer • BE GOING TO + INFINITIVO. E.g.: He is going to write an e-mail • Futuro Continuo: SHALL / WILL + BE + VERBO EN ING. E.g.: John will be retiring next month • Presente Continuo: TO BE + VERBO EN ING. E.g.: Are you doing anything this afternoon? VERBOS MODALES Se les llama también “verbos defectivos” porque carecen de la mayor parte de los tiempos verbales • • • • No toman la –S de la 3ª pers. del singular del Presente No llevan auxiliares (to do, to be, to have) para su negativa o interrogativa No llevan infinitivo con TO, excepto OUGHT TO Carecen de imperativo, infinitivo, participio de presente o participio de pasado CAN / COULD SHALL / WILL NEED (verbo ordinario también) MAY / MIGHT MUST SHOULD / WOULD OUGHT TO DARE (verbo ordinario también) Ampliación de Gramática EL GÉNERO DE LOS NOMBRES • Masculino: referencia a seres del sexo masculino. E.g.: man, boy, son, brother,etc • Femenino: referencia a seres del sexo femenino. E.g.: woman, girl, daughter, sister, etc • Sin género: animales, objetos, cosas y seres inanimados en general: dog, cat, flower, bird, etc. • Países y “nature” -> femeninos • Ship, boat, car, engines, aircraft, etc -> adjetivos posesivos o pronombres personales femeninos. • -ESS para formar el femenino.
