A fictional documentary. The film follows three young student filmmakers as they make a movie about an alleged film director living obscurely in a Buenos Aires mental hospital. The man, a mysterious and unusual character now in his 70’s, may in fact be the very same director - with a different name - who disappeared after the unsolved murder of a young actress in the 1960’s. His works have been recognized at sundry international film festivals in Toronto, San Sebastián, Cannes, Montreal, Biarritz, and Havana. (Germany, 1945). Wim Wenders is a world-renowned filmmaker. Before attending the University of Television and Film in Munich he studied Medicine and Philosophy. Recognized as one of the most important figures of the New German Cinema from the 70s, he currently lives in Berlin and teaches at the University of Fine Arts of Hamburg.
