La iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Gracia fue construida entre
1784 y 1793 sobre un templo anterior de estilo mudéjar
tras el terrible terremoto de Lisboa de 1755.
The church of Nuestra Señora de Gracia was built between
1784 and 1793 on a previous Mudejar temple, after the
Lisbon earthquake in 1755.
Con una sola nave y un crucero, tiene sencillas capillas en
las paredes laterales. La techumbre se solucionó con una
bóveda de cañon y el transepto con una bóveda semiesférica sobre pechinas.
With a single nave and a transept, it has simple chapels in
the sidewalls. The roof was covered with a barrel vault and
the transept with a hemispherical dome on pendentives.
La fachada, a la que la piedra y el ladrillo le dan un color
rojizo característico, es sencilla. En su interior podemos ver
algunas imágenes de gran valor, como la Virgen de Gracia
de José Rivera, el Sagrado Corazón de Jesús de Castillo Latrucci o el San José, de la escuela de Martínez Montañés.
The frontage is simple and has a characteristic reddish colour given by the stone and the brick. Inside wecan see
some images of great value, like the one of the Virgen de
Gracia made by José Rivera, the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús,
by Castillo Latrucci or the San José, made by the school of
Martínez Montañés.
En plena calle Real de Alosno, tan famosa en el mundo entero, la blanca fachada de la Ermita del Señor de la Columna, levantada a finales del siglo XV, constituye el edificio
más longevo del municipio.
At the heart of the Real Street in Alosno, famous in the entire world, the white frontage of the Hermitage of el Señor
de la Columna, builtat the end of theXVth century, is the
oldest building in the town.
La antigua imagen del Señor de la Columna era de la escuela de Martínez Montañés. Destruida durante la Guerra
Civil, fue sustituida por otra del prestigioso imaginero ayamontino León Ortega.
The school of Martínez Montañés made the old image of
el Señor de la Columna. Destroyed during the Spanish Civil
War, it was replaced by another made by the local sculptor
of religious images León Ortega.
Hijo Predilecto de Alosno desde el año 2006, el Señor de
la Columna procesiona majestuoso el Viernes Santo ante el
fervor popular.
Honorary citizen of Alosno since 2006, on Good Friday, el
Señor de la Columna goes out in procession majestically
feeling the popular fervour of its devotees.
