Ludwika Paleta
"La Querida del Centauro"
Ludwika Paleta was born on November 29, 1978 in Kraków, Poland. When she was a young girl her father
Zbigniew Paleta, a famous musician, was offered a job in Mexico and the family settled in that country
permanently.
Paleta's career began when her sister Dominika, took her to an audition. She impressed the casting directors
so much that soon after she was offered her first television job, in Carrusel (1989). Three years later, in
1992, she returned to the small screen in what she calls her favorite role to date, "El abuelo y yo", where she
shared credits with the actor Gael Garcia Bernal.
Paleta studied acting at Mexico City's Casa del Teatro under Raúl Quintanilla and José Caballero. She
continued her studies in improvisation and technique at New York University.
"Amigas y rivales," "Niña amada mía," "Mujer de madera," "Duelo de pasiones," "Palabra de mujer" and
"Los exitosos Pérez" are some of the television projects that have earned her a reputation as one of Mexico's
leading actresses.
In addition to her television career, Paleta has a strong background in theater. She has appeared in
productions such as "La Prueba," "El Cuarto Azul," "Pop Corn," "Los Monólogos de la Vagina," "Grito al
cielo con todo mi corazón," among others.
Her introduction to film began with "Seis días en la oscuridad," directed by Gabriel Soriano. Other bigscreen roles include "Propiedad ajena" and "Corazón de Melón," by Luis Vélez; "Polvo de Ángel," by Oscar
Blancarte; "El libro de piedra," by Julio César Estrada; "No sé si cortarme las venas" by Manolo Caro;
"Volando bajo," by Beto Gómez; and "Rumbos Paralelos," by Rafael Montero.
Paleta enjoys great fame and popularity in Latin America, which has been her home since she was a child.
Her latest project is "La Querida del Centauro", a Sony and Teleset production for Telemundo which
premieres its new season in May 2017.
