Dear Parishioners,
It is with the utmost and heartfelt thanks that I write this letter to inform you of the current financial status of Immaculate Conception
Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission. Officially today, Immaculate Conception Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission is formally
and irrevocably, DEBT FREE!!!!
We are very grateful to Diocese for the generous offer to forgive a portion of the Diocesan Debt, with a dollar for dollar match, which
enabled us to pay this debt down so quickly. With our Budget forecasts and analysis, we were predicting the Diocesan debt to be paid off
late December. We are so happy to be able to reach this goal two months sooner than as expected.
As you know, when I came to Immaculate Conception Parish in 2010, the parish was in financial debt exceeding $500,000.00. This was a
result of several factors, including the National and International Financial Crisis that we all experienced with the Financial Markets. Difficult
situations brought difficult decisions to conscientiously focus on the best way to tackle this debt issue and to at least keep the debt from
growing. People were laid off from their positions, more were faced with reduced hours and wages were frozen from any increase for over 3
years. During these drastic extremes, the parish was faced also with the death of Leroy Zacher, Immaculate Conception’s Business Manager
and the sudden death of Fr. Tomas Munoz.
Additionally, Immaculate Conception Church had a debt with the Yuma Catholic High School for Tuition Scholarships, and recently we were
notified that this debt has been forgiven completely in honor of Leroy Zacher. We are so grateful for the Diocese and to YCHS for this
Forgiveness of Debt and additionally we are extremely grateful to some very large endowment donations that helped to see this debt
reduction become a reality. A big thank you to each and every one of you as parishioners who have participated in our Capital
Development Campaigns to insure the future of Immaculate Conception Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission. 2016 will bring the
celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Immaculate Conception Church. Beautiful Stained Glass windows are being installed, prayerfully
creating a focus on the Joyful and Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary. Pews and painting renovations are underway as well as the project to
modify and renovate the extensive project of the bathroom renovations. Without your commitment and love for God’s Church, we would
not be where we are today. Thank You.
It is Immaculate Conception’s intent to continue to focus on setting up the Reserve as required by Diocesan policy and to keep us out of debt
in the future. To reiterate this focus, our financial responsibility as a parish will be to continue to focus on setting aside monies monthly,
specifically for the intent of our Reserve. It is our goal that within 3 years, a Reserve of over $500,000.00 will be established, which is
indicative of 3 months operational costs.
Immaculate Conception Parish is now beginning its Five Year Strategical Planning Sessions both for the school and for the parish and
imperatively will filter in to our budget process which is only a few months away.
With this focus, exciting new items are on the Horizon to cohesively collaborate the Spirit of the Church’s Evangelization, specifically with
IC’s new website and Parish Software designed to reach out to our current parishioners as well as our fallen away Catholics, and with the
realistic hopes that IC School will open a Catholic Preschool, the first in this southwest area, that will bring a succinct formation of Pre K- 12th
Grade and continue with the Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese.
On November 18th, 2014 at 7:00 PM, we will be having a financial presentation of where Immaculate Conception Church and Our Lady of
Guadalupe Parish stands financial. This will be a more detailed account of where we have been, where we are now and where we are going.
I urge your attendance and to feel free to contact myself or our Business Manager, Michelle Umbower with any questions. All of our Boards,
Financial, Pastoral, School will be in attendance for your questions and insight as well. I hope to see each of you there.
We are so happy to report to you these wonderful Blessings. We are all so grateful to God for His abundant Graces and so thankful to all for
your support and this forgiveness of debt, that has help to see Immaculate Conception through all of this. This is a time to Bask in God’s
Goodness and to humble ourselves to how incredible He is in our lives.

Es con las más sinceras gracias que les escribo esta carta para informarle de la situación financiera actual de la Iglesia Inmaculada
Concepción y la Misión Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Oficialmente hoy, la Iglesia Inmaculada Concepción y Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe
Misión es formalmente y de manera irrevocable, LIBRE DE DEUDAS!!!!
Estamos muy agradecidos a la Diócesis por su generoso ofrecimiento de perdonar una parte de la deuda Diocesana, con un dólar por dólar,
lo que nos permitió reducir esta deuda más rápidamente. Con nuestros pronósticos presupuestarios y análisis, teníamos contemplado pagar
la deuda Diocesana para que se pagara para diciembre. Estamos muy contentos por haber logrado alcanzar esta meta dos meses antes de lo
que esperaba.
Como ustedes saben, cuando llegué a la Parroquia Inmaculada Concepción en 2010, la parroquia tenía una deuda financiera superior a $
500,000.00. Este fue el resultado de varios factores, como la crisis financiera internacional y nacional que todos experimentamos con los
mercados financieros. Las situaciones difíciles trajeron decisiones difíciles para centrarse concienzudamente sobre la mejor manera de
abordar este tema de la deuda y por lo menos hacer que la deuda no creciera. Las personas fueron despedidas de sus puestos, algunos otros
se les redujo las horas y los salarios fueron congelados por más de 3 años. Durante estos extremos drásticos, la parroquia se enfrentó
también con la muerte de Leroy Zacher, Gerente de Negocios de la Inmaculada Concepción y la repentina muerte del P. Tomás Muñoz.
Además, la Iglesia Inmaculada Concepción tenía una deuda con la Escuela Secundaria Católica de Yuma para becas de matrícula, y
recientemente nos notificó que esta deuda ha sido perdonada por completo en honor a Leroy Zacher. Estamos muy agradecidos con la
Diócesis y con la YCHS por haber perdonado la deuda y, además, estamos muy agradecidos con algunos por sus generosas donaciones que
ayudaron para que esta reducción de la deuda se convierta en una realidad. Un gran agradecimiento a todos y cada uno de ustedes como los
feligreses que han participado en nuestras campañas de desarrollo de capital para asegurar el futuro de la Iglesia Inmaculada Concepción y
La Misión de Nuestra Señora Guadalupe. En el año2016 traerá la celebración del 150 aniversario de la iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción.
Se han instalado unas Hermosas vidrieras dándole un enfoque a los misterios gozosos y gloriosos del Rosario. El renovado de las bancas y la
pintura están en marcha, así como el proyecto para modificar y renovar los baños. Sin su compromiso y su amor por la Iglesia de Dios, no
estaríamos donde estamos hoy. Gracias.
Es la intención de la Inmaculada Concepción enfocándose en la creación de tener una Reserva como lo requiere la política de la Diócesis y
para mantenernos fuera de la deuda en el futuro. Para reiterar este enfoque, nuestra responsabilidad financiera como parroquia será
continuar a centrándose en ahorrar dinero mensualmente, específicamente con el propósito de tener una reserva. Nuestro objetivo es que
dentro de 3 años, cuando se establezca una reserva de más de $ 500,000.00, lo que equivale a 3 meses de operación.
La Parroquia Inmaculada Concepción está comenzando unas sesiones estratégicas de 5 años para la escuela y para la parroquia que
imperativamente filtrará en nuestro presupuesto que está a sólo unos meses de distancia.
Con este enfoque, emocionantes nuevos elementos están en el horizonte de colaborar coherentemente el Espíritu de la evangelización de la
Iglesia, especialmente con la nueva web de IC y Software Parroquia diseñado para llegar a nuestros feligreses actuales, así como nuestros
católicos distanciados, y con las esperanzas realistas que la Escuela IC se abrirá un preescolar católico, el primero en esta zona suroeste, que
traerá una formación sucinta de pre K-12 grado y continuar con la misión de la educación católica en la Diócesis.
El 18 de noviembre de 2014 a las 7:00 PM, vamos a tener una presentación financiera para dar a conocer la situación financiera Iglesia de la
Inmaculada Concepción y Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Este será un reporte más detallado de cómo estábamos, como estamos ahora y
hacia dónde vamos. Les pido su asistencia y no dude en ponerse en contacto conmigo o nuestra Gerente de Negocios, Michelle Umbower
con cualquier pregunta. Estarán presentes todas las mesas directivas, Financiera, Pastorales, Escolares para responder todas sus preguntas
o para sus ideas. Espero ver a cada uno de ustedes.
Estamos tan contentos de compartir con ustedes estas maravillosas bendiciones. Todos estamos muy agradecidos con Dios por sus
abundantes gracias y muy agradecidos con todos por su apoyo y el perdón de la deuda, que ayudara a la Inmaculada Concepción a través de
todo esto. Este es un tiempo para darle las gracias a Dios por toda su bondad y humildemente darle las gracias por formar parte de nuestras
vidas.
