PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN: The next

house at our new “Cenacle,”
718 Oakland St., the old Ave Maria
Resource Center. The open house will
be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. This new
facility will house many of our
ministries that focus on prayer or
one-on-one counseling and spiritual direction.
Wednesday, August 10th, 5:30 pm, Grace
Lutheran Church will join us for a pot luck dinner
followed by a tour of our church. The following week,
August 17th, we with gather at the same time, 5:30,
(NOT 6:30) at Grace Lutheran Church. Everyone is
invited to attend one or both of these gatherings.
Grace Lutheran is at the corner of Blythe and Rt. 64.
For those who do not receive church
envelopes, there are yellow and gray envelopes in the
back of the church for church/school improvements
(yellow) and St. Francis Scholarship (gray). Feel free
to use them on the 1st and 2nd Sunday for the second
collections.

Mary. It is NOT a Holy Day
of Obligation. When this feast
falls on a Saturday or
Monday, the obligation of a
holy day is dispensed. We will follow our regular

CENACLE
OPEN
HOUSE
SUNDAY,
AUGUST 7TH: There will be an “Open House” at the
Cenacle, 718 Oakland Street, on Sunday, August 7th
from 2-4 pm. The building will be used for Parish
Ministries such as Spiritual Direction, Individual or
Family Counseling, Healing Prayer, Unbound Prayer,
Small Group Prayer Sessions and Called & Gifted
Interviews. The Cenacle is primarily a “House of
Prayer” for all who come. All who are interested in or
will be using the building are invited to attend. There
will be tours and review of guidelines for use of the
building. There will also be an opportunity for making

LUTHERAN
COVENANT:
We have recently signed a covenant with our brothers
and sisters at Grace Lutheran church. As we try to
learn more about each other, one of our first activities
will be to share a meal together and take a tour of each
other’s
churches.

CHARITABLE IRA DISTRIBUTIONS NOW
PERMANENT: Taxpayers who are 70-1/2 or older can
now make tax-free distributions from their Individual
Retirement Accounts directly to a qualified charity.
These qualified charitable distributions (QCDs) allow
donations of some or all or part of your IRA
distributions (up to $100,000 per taxpayer per year) to
be made to eligible charities while excluding them from
your taxable income. The QCD will count toward your
annual RMD for 2015 and is retroactive, meaning that
any direct distribution made to a qualified charity this
year will count on your taxes. To qualify, distributions
must be made to IRS-eligible charities and must be paid
directly to the charity by the IRA administrator. Simply
note the donation as a QCD when you file your taxes; if
you exclude the amount from your income, you cannot
also deduct it on Schedule A of your tax return. For
more information about QCDs, contact a qualified tax
specialist.

ICS students have illustrated their interpretation of
our Catholic Virtue of Hope. These symbols are
based on the Bible verse, “It is you, O Lord, who are
my hope” Psalm 71, as well as how practicing
“hope” helps us to meet our Immaculata Catholic
School expectations.
ATTENTION GROCERY CARD SELLERS
In order to comply with new Diocesan regulations,
there will be a MANDATORY training session at the
end of August for all current and potential grocery
card sellers. The time, date and place are to be
arranged and will be printed in the bulletin. Please

PRAYER ANCHOR: Would you like someone to
pray for your needs? A prayer line has been organized
in our parish to pray for special needs. Just call Gail

DIVORCE

SEPARATED
MINISTRY meets on the 1st & 3r d Sunday at 6pm
in Meeting Room 1. This is a support group for
individuals who have experienced divorce or
separation. For more info please call Lu at 329-4026.
CHURCH LIBRARY: Did you know that we have
a church library? It is located in Meeting Room 1 and
is open during regular office hours (except when in use
for meetings). Come and see.
MIDNIGHT WATCH – HOLY HOUR: Join men of
the church in a bilingual Holy Hour of prayer on
Friday evening, August 19th, and the 3rd Friday of each
month from midnight to 1am. This is a powerful and
enriching service in which men of the church go to
significant sacrifice to leave the comfort of home in
the middle of the night to gather together to pray for
each other’s intentions and those of the parish. Praying
the rosary begins at 11:40pm, followed by Midnight
Watch (Holy Hour devotion before the Blessed
Sacrament) beginning at midnight with singing,
praying together, reading of scripture and a period of
Sacred Silence. All men are invited to attend. All are
also welcome to submit prayer requests in sealed
envelopes addressed to Midnight Watch and delivered
to the parish office by the Thursday before the
3rd Friday. Prayer requests will be included in the
Midnight Watch and envelopes destroyed thereafter.

THE SAINT FRANCIS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
was established to provide aid to deserving students
who require financial assistance to meet tuition at our
parish school, Immaculata Catholic School. It is
through your generous contributions using the “Gray
Envelope Offering,” found in your monthly offering
envelope package, that Immaculate Conception
Church has assisted many deserving parish families
meet their education tuition cost. You make the difference! Thank You and God Bless You.

FAIR
“CATHOLIC
PRESENCE”
VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED:
Immaculate Conception Parish is joining with
St. Barnabas again this year to bring a Catholic
Presence to the Mountain State Fair, September 9 –
18, at the Ag Center near the airport. The purpose of
the booth is to reach out to the community to share the
Good News of Jesus Christ and to answer questions
and dispel myths about the Catholic Church. We need
volunteers to help staff the booth during the Fair.
Being an active Catholic knowledgeable about our
faith, a good listener and a people person are the
predominate attributes that will make our booth a
success. Fair passes will be provided to volunteers,
which will cover admission to the Fairgrounds each

MINISTRIES FOR ADDICTIONS: Substance
abuse has become a major problem in Hendersonville!
It effects our parishioners. They either have an
addiction, know someone who is addicted, or have a
family member who is suffering from this terrible
disease. There is no shame in being an addict or having someone close to you who is addicted. The only
shame is doing nothing about it. For more information
contact Raymond Messina at 551-7404. We have
meetings the first and third Mondays for family
members and friends. (Teens welcome) The second
and fourth Mondays are for substance abusers. All
meetings are from 7-8pm in the downstairs conference
5 room. All discussions are strictly CONFIDENTIAL.

All High school teens are invited to join us Sunday evenings for our youth ministry nights. Join
us for Mass in the Main Church from 5-6pm each week. We are no longer meeting Sunday

BOARD FUNDRAISER in AUGUST
Beginning this weekend, August 6/7, and continuing through the month of August, we will have our YOUTH MINISTRY
Board up at the main entrance to the church. It is our main fundraiser for this year. It is very simple. We will have envelopes
with numbers on them and I invite you to come choose 1 envelope, or 2 or 3 or 4, and then put in the envelope the amount
that is written on the envelope. It is an easy fundraiser. We have 2 big trips in the works for next summer - Mission Trip to
Haiti for older teens, and Summer Camp for EDGE youth. Please stop by our board to see more. I look forward to continuing
this journey together with you, our supportive parish!!
To help you understand the role of youth ministry and these opportunities for our youth and teens, you will be hearing from
the teens & youth themselves in the coming weeks. Learn why these experiences are crucial for our teens and youth, to
engage them in their faith journeys, to give them opportunities to truly meet Christ in their lives and choose to live with Him,

¿Dónde tenemos nuestro tesoro? El texto del Evangelio de hoy nos muestra diversos centros de atención.
Veremos en lo que Jesús enfatiza en diferentes ocasiones y es la imagen del tesoro para hablar del Reino.
El tesoro es deseado, es algo así como sacarnos la lotería cada semana que la rifan, o que nos llegue una
herencia no esperada. En la vida nos encontramos rodeados de tesoros que nos quieren vender muchas
cosas con la promesa de ser felices. Sin embargo, Jesús nos dice que poseer el Reino de Dios implica otra
cosa a la que debemos poner atención. Esta va en la medida de donde ponemos los bienes que tenemos, del cómo
compartimos nuestro tiempo, talento y tesoro con los demás. Se trata de no acumular, sino de buscar y dar, dar siempre, para
obtener el tesoro que no se acaba.
La seguridad de pertenecer al grupo de Jesús no está en querer todo, sino en confiar en Dios. Eso es lo difícil porque se
tiene la tendencia de aferrarse a las cosas materiales, el dinero, la ropa, el carro, la casa y tantas otras cosas que se podrían
mencionar. ¿Cómo hacer para que a partir de hoy aumente la confianza en Dios? ¿Dónde está a lo que me aferro? ¿Qué me
aleja de Dios? Para responder a estas preguntas Jesús nos explica tres parábolas: el patrón que regresa de su boda y
encuentra a los siervos atentos y vigilantes, y prepara la mesa para ellos; el ladrón que entra a la casa, roba y se lleva todo; y
la del administrado fiel que cuando llega el patrón lo encuentra trabajando. Cumplir, confiar, comprometerse y trabajar. ¡Ahí
está el tesoro!

HORA SANTA DE MEDIA NOCHE
Acompañen a los hombres de nuestra parroquia en un Hora
Santa de oración bilingüe el viernes, 19 de augusto, y cada
tercer viernes de cada mes de medianoche a 1:00am. Este
es un servicio poderoso y enriquecedor en el cual hombres
de nuestra parroquia hacen el sacrifico importante de salir
de la comodidad de sus casas a la media noche para reunirse con el fin de orar por las intenciones de cada uno y las de
nuestra parroquia. La oración del rosario inicia a las
11:40PM, seguido por La Hora Santa de media noche a las
12AM con cantos, oración en conjunto, la recitación de las
escrituras y un tiempo de Silencio Sagrado. Todos los hombres son invitados a asistir. Todos son bienvenidos a someter peticiones de oración en un sobre sellado y marcado
como Oración de la Hora Santa de la media noche y dejado
la oficina de la iglesia. Toda carta de petición será destruida
después del servicio en cual se fue pedido.

ATENCION CAMBIO EN EL CALENDARIO DE
FORMACION EN LA FE
Las catequistas ya tienen las formas de
inscripción para el próximo año. La forma
es la misma para la Confirmación, la Primera
Comunión, el catecismo en general y la
catequesis del Buen Pastor. Favor de enviar
todos los documentos al mismo tiempo.
Si su hijo está en el Segundo año de preparación
sacramental anexe la copia de la fe de bautismo,
aunque haya sido bautizado aquí en la Inmaculada.
Acuérdese por favor que la Formación Moral y
religiosa de sus hijos es el REGALO MAS
IMPORTANTE que usted como padre o madre de
familia puede dar a sus hijos. LA FORMACION NO
ES SOLO PARA LOS SACRAMENTOS SINO PARA
LA VIDA. Vivan la fe en casa todos los días de
manera que el niño(a) esté permanentemente
anclado en el amor de Cristo. Ponga sus prioridades

ANCLA DE ORACION: ¿Les gustar ía que

iniciarán la línea de oración. Toda petición se mantendrá

CONVENIO LUTERANO – CATOLICO: Recientemente hemos firmado un convenio con nuestros
hermanos y hermanas de la iglesia Luterana
de Gracia. Mientras aprendemos mas de
nosotros mismos y como parte de nuestro
convenio con la iglesia Luterana de Gracia, hemos
planificados dos cenas compartidas seguido por un
recorrido de las dos iglesias. Una de las cenas se llevará a
cabo en la iglesia de Luterana de Gracia y la otra aquí en la
Inmaculada Concepción. Todos estamos cordialmente
invitados a asistir a una de estas cenas o si gustan ambas
cenas. Aquí en la Inmaculada Concepción, la cena se
llevará a cabo miércoles, 10 de agosto a las 5:30PM en el
salón San Francisco. En la iglesia Luterana de Gracia, nos
reuniremos el miércoles, 17 de agosto a las 6:30PM, en la
esquina de la calle Blythe y la 64.
TALLER DE PRECANA: El próximo
taller de preparación prematrimonial,
Pre-Cana, se llevara acabo el sábado, 20 de
agosto de 9:00AM a 4:00PM en la
parroquia de San Eugenio en Asheville,
NC. Este taller es un requisito para todas las parejas
que desean casarse por la Iglesia. El costo será de $25
por pareja, e incluye el almuerzo y Se ofrecerá el

fundamental cristiano" mediante el anuncio kerigmático del acontecimiento de Cristo, "por la vía de la

privadamente o en un grupo cerrado, sino que, además
-segundo objetivo- ha de ser "fermento en los

EL BAUTISMO
Los bautizos son el primer domingo del mes, después de
la Misa de la 1:30 PM. La clase de preparación, que es
un requisito para los padres y padrinos, tendrá lugar el
sábado a las 10 AM, en el Salón San Francisco. Por favor
lleven una copia del acta de nacimiento (No se aceptan
tarjetas, tiene que ser una acta con ambos nombres de
los papás). Requisitos para ser padrinos: Ser bautizado y
tener la intención de asumir las responsabilidades, tener
uso de razón, haber cumplido 18 años, estar confirmado,
haber hecho su Primera Comunión y llevar una vida de
fe. Los padrinos han de ser solteros o casados por la
Iglesia Católica. No pueden vivir en unión libre, ya que
deben de ser modelos de vida cristiana para los ahijados.
Para preguntas favor de llamar a Feliciano de la oficina al
693-6901. Los niños deben de tener la edad de 0 a 6
años. Si son mayores deberán atender la clase de la
Primera Comunión y un mes antes de terminar la
Primera Comunión serán Bautizados.

PEDIR
UNA
MISA
Para pedir una Misa por la intención de un ser querido,
difunto o vivo, llame a las oficinas de la iglesia al
693-6901 en horas laborales (lunes a jueves, 8:30AM4:30 PM, y viernes 8:30 AM-1:00 PM). Se necesita pedir
la Misa con al menos cuatro meses de anticipo. Se
acostumbra dar una ofrenda.
ALCOHÓLICOS ANÓNIMOS
Es una comunidad de hombres y mujeres que comparten
su mutua experiencia, fortaleza y esperanza para resolver
su problema común y ayudar a otros a recuperarse del
alcoholismo. El único requisito para ser miembro de
A.A. es tener el deseo de dejar la bebida. Para mas

¿POR QUÉ DEBO REGISTRARME EN MI PARROQUIA? Registrarse es muy importante para poder inscribir
a sus hijos en el colegio Immaculata, para el matrimonio,
para bautizos, Quinceañeras, y para cartas de
recomendación (Inmigración) de la Iglesia diciendo que
usted pertenece a nuestra congregación. En los archivos
parroquiales estará su nombre y será fácil encontrarlo
cuando usted solicite algo. Cada mes se le enviaran los
sobres para la limosna con su nombre y cuando utiliza los
sobres de la donación, la oficina parroquial reconoce que
usted es un miembro activo de nuestra congregación. La
cantidad donada no importa, su ayuda sí. El paquete de
registración lo pueden encontrar en el cuarto de las novia (a
un lado de baño de las mujeres), y también puede ser
encontrado en la oficina de la iglesia.
TARJETAS DE COMPRA: Por favor recuerden comprar
sus tarjetas de compra de las tiendas de Ingles y Fresh
Market, después de la Misa para beneficiar a nuestra
escuela de la Inmaculada. Al comprar un tarjeta de
comparas, ustedes recibirán el valor total de que pagaron en
sus tarjetas y el 5% de sus compras de tarjetas beneficiaran
directamente a nuestra escuela de la Inmaculada. Para
obtener su tarjeta de compras, lo único que tienen que hacer
es pasar a la mesa de ventas a la salida de la iglesia.

LA PRESENTACIÓN DE LOS NIÑOS
Cada segundo domingo del mes se invita a los niños y
niñas que cumplen los tres años ese mes para recibir
una bendición especial, junto con sus padres y
padrinos. Al igual que José y María cuando llevaron al
Niño Jesús al templo para consagrarlo al Señor,
también reconocemos que los hijos son de Dios, y a Su
servicio y cuidado se los encomendamos. Para poder
participar, deberá darle al Padre Roberto un
papelito con el nombre del niño o la niña
claramente escrito antes de empezar la Misa. El
Padre Roberto los invitará a subir al santuario después
de la celebración de la Eucaristía.
INFORMACIÓN SOBRE DONDE CONSEGUIR AYUDA
Si quiere saber a donde y como conseguir ayuda para
atención médica, cuidado de niños, necesidades
básicas como comida, alojamiento, luz y agua,
consejería, u otros servicios humanitarios, solo tiene
que marcar el 2-1-1 y explicarle a la operadora cual es
su necesidad. Se habla español de 3 a 7 PM, y le darán
el nombre, dirección y teléfono de la agencia donde
puedan prestarle ayuda.
AVISO Puede conseguir muebles, r opa y ar tículos
para el hogar en el depósito del Buen Samaritano, a un
lado del Colegio Inmaculada. Abrimos los martes de
5PM a 7PM, y los sábados de 10AM a 12PM.
También si usted tiene muebles, artículos para donar
en buena condición llame a Feliciano de la oficina para
hacer su donación. 693-6901.
MINISTERIO DE CUIDADO DE LOS ENFERMOS Si usted tiene algún familiar o conocido de la
comunidad que se encuentre enfermo y desea que se le
visité o se le lleve la Santa Comunión, bien sea en la
casa donde éste reside u hospital, puede comunicarse
con Feliciano de la oficina al 693-6901.

Nuestra iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción cuenta con
un puesto de oportunidades de trabajos para personas
quienes estén buscando un empleo o para quienes estén

colocado en la parte exterior del segundo piso de la
iglesia, al lado izquierdo de donde está la entrada
