Western Middle School Food Drive Ends Monday, Nov. 25th
Thank you to those families who donated to the WMS food drive for Neighbor to Neighbor. If you have not,
please consider donating canned vegetables (assorted variety), canned or boxed potatoes/yams/sweet potatoes,
boxed stuffing mix, Cranberry Sauce, and boxed Macaroni & Cheese, fresh fruit & vegetables, any nonperishable food items in cans, boxes, or plastic jars: boxed pasta, cereal, black or red kidney beans (canned or
dry), soup, canned meat, peanut butter and Jelly, and rice. If you would like to donate food to Neighbor to
Neighbor, please have your child bring your donation to school tomorrow. Donation boxes will be in the
advisor base classrooms. Turkeys will be accepted on Monday morning until 8 am. Gift cards to grocery
stores and checks made out to Neighbor to Neighbor are greatly appreciated. If you choose to donate gift cards
or a check, please leave those items in the PTA box in the school office. If you have any questions, please

council for coordinating the food drive.
Spirit Wear, sweat pants available by special order until Tuesday, Nov. 26th
The PTA will be taking special orders for sweatpants which match the sweatshirts. The sweatpants will be the
same material and have the same logo as the sweatshirts. Sweatpants are $25 and can be ordered by completing
an order form. Completed order forms and payment for the sweatpants should be left in the WMS office by
November 26th. The PTA will not be stocking sweatpants. They are only available by special order. Spirit
wear would make a wonderful holiday gift for your child and we can make arrangements to get the spirit
wear to you so it will be surprise for your child. For the sweatpants order form, please click

Spirit wear will also be available for sale before the winter concert and the holiday dinner on the following
dates: December 2nd, December 10th and December 11th. Don’t forget your check book.
Lost and Found
If your child is missing any clothing, foot wear, back pack, or lunch box, please have them check the lost and
found by the gym and in the cafeteria. All lost and found will be donated to a local charity on Tuesday,
November 26th.
Western Middle School Book Fair, December 9th – December 12th
The book fair is coming to Western! The book fair is a great opportunity for your family to purchase books.
Each student during one language arts class will visit the book fair. Parents are welcome to shop at the book
fair each morning at 7:30 am or on the evenings of December 10th and 11th. In order to hold the book fair,
parent volunteers are needed. Please volunteer at

Holiday Dessert Fundraiser
Thank you to the families who made the holiday dessert fundraiser successful. Also, thank you to Judy Badia
for coordinating.
Greenwich Alliance for Education TURKEY TROT Sunday, November 30
Bring out your family and friends for a fun morning of exercise. The 5K and 1Mile Fun Run/Walk begins at the
Arch Street Teen Center, 100 Arch Street and travel through Bruce Park. This year we are again having a Town
Wide School Competition. The school who has the greatest participation wins a $500 gift card towards new
gym equipment for their Physical Education Department. T-shirts and goody bags for all pre-registered runners
by 11/22. All proceeds benefit the Greenwich Alliance for Education’s programs that aim to foster educational
success for Greenwich Public School students.

COLECTA DE ALIMENTOS DE WMS finaliza el lunes 25 de noviembre
Agradecemos a todas las familias que donaron alimentos en beneficio de Vecino a Vecino. Si usted no ha tenido
la oportunidad de hacerlo, le pedimos considere donar verduras o frutas enlatadas (surtidas), camotes o patatas
enlatadas o en caja, relleno para pavo, salsa de arándanos enlatada, cajas de macarrones y queso; o cualquier
otra donación de alimentos no perecederos envasados como: pastas en caja, cereales en caja, frijoles negros o
rojos (enlatados o secos), sopas, carne enlatada, mantequilla de maní, mermelada, o arroz. Si usted desea
contribuir con la campaña de Vecino a Vecino, por favor envíe su donación a la escuela con su hijo mañana
lunes, 25 de noviembre. Las cajas para dejar su donación están en los salones del “base advisor”. Las
donaciones de pavos se aceptarán hasta las 8 am del día lunes. Tarjetas de regalo de supermercados o
donaciones monetarias son gratamente aceptadas. Por favor, emita su cheque a “Neighbor to Neighbor”. Las
tarjetas de regalo o cheques deben ser colocados en la caja del PTA de la oficina principal. Si usted tiene alguna

ROPA DE WMS, aceptaremos órdenes de pantalones deportivos hasta el martes 26
de noviembre
El PTA aceptará pedidos especiales de pantalones deportivos con el logo de WMS. Los pantalones serán del
mismo material y tienen el mismo logo que las sudaderas. El pantalón cuesta de $ 25 y se puede adquirir
completando un formulario de pedido. Puede dejar su pedido y pago en la oficina de WMS hasta el 26 de
noviembre. El PTA no almacena pantalones deportivos, éstos sólo estarán disponibles a través de pedidos
especiales. Considere que la ropa de WMS será un maravilloso regalo para su hijo. El PTA está buscando a
voluntarios para ayudar con la ropa de WMS. Si usted está interesado en ayudar o si tiene preguntas sobre la

“Lost and Found”

FERIA DEL LIBRO DE SCHOLASTIC, del 9 al 12 de diciembre
¡La feria del libro llega a WMS! La feria de libro es una gran oportunidad para adquirir magníficos libros. Su
hijo tendrá la oportunidad de visitar la feria durante una de sus clases. Los padres podrán adquirir libros durante
las mañanas a las 7.30 am o durante las horas publicadas abajo. Asimismo, los libros estarán a la venta las dos
noches del 10 y 11 de diciembre. Necesitamos urgentemente padres voluntarios para lograr continuar la feria.

“TURKEY TROT” de la Alianza para la Educación de Greenwich, domingo 30 de
noviembre
Lleva a tu familia y amigos a una divertida mañana de ejercicio. La divertida carrera/caminata del 5K y de 1
milla comenzará en el Arch Street Teen Center,100 Arch Street y continuará a través de Bruce Park. Este año
volvemos a tener una competencia de todas las escuelas de la ciudad. La escuela que tenga la mayor
participación recibirá una tarjeta de regalo de $500 para nuevo equipo de gimnasio para su Departamento de
Educación Física. Todos los participantes inscritos antes del 22 de noviembre obtendrán camisetas y bolsas de
regalo. Todos los ingresos beneficiarán los programas de la Alianza para la Educación de Greenwich que tienen
como objetivo fomentar el éxito escolar de los estudiantes de las Escuelas Públicas de Greenwich.
