Free & Reduced- Price Meal Applications
Free or reduced-price meals are available to students whose families meet certain income criteria. To apply for the 2013-2014 school year, please complete
and submit a new household application to your student’s school. Applications can also be entered online at foodapp.dallasisd.org
Meal Payments
Students will need to bring money to pay for meals every day, unless approved for free meal benefits. For convenience make prepayments to your
student’s account using cash, check or through our online payment system. Please visit www.mypaymentsplus.com to register your account and
add students.
Special Dietary Needs
Students with special dietary needs requiring menu modifications must submit a Dallas ISD Annual Dietary Request Form completed and signed by
a Physician. If your child requires a special diet, please contact your school nurse to begin the menu modification process. Allergen and carbohydrate
meal information are available on the Dallas ISD FCNS website page.
Meal Selection Requirements
All students will be required to select at least one fruit or vegetable serving to complete a meal. Menus feature whole grains and a variety of local
Texas grown fruits and vegetables. A complete meal consists of protein rich foods, whole grains, a variety of vegetables and fruits, and low fat milk.
Harvest of the Month - Now Serving Locally Grown
School cafeterias are serving up farm, fresh goodness. Each month, the Harvest of the Month lunch selection will incorporate a locally grown fruit or
vegetable. Students will have the opportunity to:
• Taste a variety of regionally grown fruits and vegetables.
• Learn about where their food comes from.
• Discover flavorful, nutritious ways to enjoy fruits and vegetables- both at school and home.
A la Carte Sales
Dallas ISD schools offer students a chance to purchase extra portions of menu items. In addition, snacks that adhere to federal and state nutritional
standards are sold during the last part of the meal period. Only one snack item may be purchased at a time.
