Meal Prices: The Food and Nutritional Services is looking forward to serving the children of Plano
ISD for the 2012-13 school year. Our meals provide high quality, nutritious, age appropriate foods
that meet USDA requirements. Plano ISD will offer meals at the following prices for the 2012-13
school year:

Food and Nutritional Services follows the Food-Based Menu planning approach for breakfast and
lunch. Lunch consists of five groups which are: meat/meat alternate, grains/breads, fruits, vegetables
and milk. In order to receive a reimbursable meal, the minimum requirements are three items from the
five groups listed above, one of which must be a half cup of a fruit or vegetable. The maximum
requirements are five items from the groups listed above, one of which must be a half cup of a fruit or
vegetable. Breakfast (where served) will include at least 3 choices from the five food groups, one of
which must be a half cup of a fruit. If minimum requirements for a reimbursable meal are not met, á la
carte prices will be charged.
The Offer versus Serve menu style implementation by Plano ISD specifies that it is the student’s
decision regarding which items he/she selects for breakfast and lunch. Federal regulations state
students must select items and place them on their tray. A staff member may not put items on the
student’s tray or insist he/she select certain food items. Staff members may assist if a student cannot
reach an item. Nutritious snacks are sold for a nominal fee to students in 1st – 12th grade. The
nutritional analysis for elementary and secondary lunch menus is available on the Plano ISD website at
http://pisd.edu. First click on Parents and select Nutrition & Menus from the menu on the left side of
the screen, then from the right side of the screen, select school menus.
PayPAMS: The district has an on-line payment option. PayPAMS allows parents to make credit card
payments to their child’s lunch account via the Internet. Parents can find the PayPAMS link on the
PISD website at: http://pisd.edu.

Precios de las Comidas: El Departamento de Servicios Alimenticios y de Nutrición espera el placer de servir a
los alumnos del Distrito Escolar de Plano durante el 2012-13 año escolar. Nuestras comidas proveen alimentos
apropiados para la edad, nutritivos y de alta calidad, que cumplen los requisitos del USDA. El Distrito Escolar
de Plano ofrecerá estas comidas a los precios siguientes durante el 2012-13 año escolar:

Alimentos y servicios nutricionales sigue el menú basado en alimentos enfoque de planificación para el
desayuno y almuerzo. Almuerzo consta de cinco grupos que son: suplente de carne y carne, granos y panes,
frutas, verduras y leche. Para recibir una comida reembolsable, los requisitos mínimos son tres elementos de los
cinco grupos enumerados anteriormente, uno de los cuales debe ser una Copa la mitad de una fruta o verdura.
Los requisitos de máximos son cinco elementos de los grupos mencionados anteriormente, uno de los cuales
debe ser una Copa la mitad de una fruta o verdura. Desayuno (donde es servido) incluirá al menos 3 opciones de
los grupos de cinco alimentos, uno de los cuales debe ser una media taza de fruta. Si los requisitos mínimos para
una comida reembolsable no son encontrados, será cobrado por cada porción de acompañamiento.
El estilo de menú de la Oferta contra Sirve, implementado por el Distrito Escolar de Plano, especifica que esto
es la decisión del alumno en cuanto a cuales artículos él/ella selecciona para desayuno y almuerzo. Los
reglamentos federales indican que el alumno deberá elegir los artículos y ponerlos en la bandeja. Un miembro
del personal no puede poner ningún artículo en la bandeja del alumno ni insistir que él/ella seleccione ciertos
artículos de alimento. Si un alumno no puede alcanzar un artículo, los miembros del personal lo podrán ayudar.
Los bocados nutritivos son vendidos por un precio nominal a los alumnos en grados del uno a doce. El análisis
nutritivo para los menús de almuerzo para las escuelas primarias y secundarias está disponible en el sitio
Internet del Distrito Escolar de Plano, al http://pisd.edu. Haga clic primero en Parents y luego, a la izquierda en
la pantalla, seleccione Nutrition & Menus del menú. Después, al lado derecho de la pantalla, elija School
Menus.
PayPAMS: El distrito tiene una opción de pagos por Internet. PayPAMS permite a los padres realizar pagos
por tarjeta de crédito en Internet a la cuenta de almuerzos de su hijo. Los padres encontrarán el enlace de
