Mariachi Rosas Divinas
In honor of Día de los Niños/ Día de los Libros (Children’s Day/Books Day) and women in the arts, the Dallas
Museum of Art will host a Family Celebration to showcase the cultural contributions and artistic achievements
of women in all cultures. The event also kicks off Mexico 200, a celebration of the Mexican bicentennial at the
Dallas Museum of Art.
Enjoy a wide variety of culturally themed arts activities for all ages including family films, a theater performance
of Sor Juana for families by Frida Espinosa Müller, a Collection Connection featuring the ancient Maya work Lady
Bolon K’an, and sketching in the galleries. A special guest performance by Mariachi Rosas Divinas, the first female
mariachi group, will be a highlight of the event.
Also on April 11, the Dallas Museum of Art will partner with The Dallas Film Society’s 2010 DALLAS International
Film Festival Family Day. Children’s films from around the world will be shown. Films will be screened in both the
Horchow Auditorium and the Center for Creative Connections Theater.
Please stay tuned for announcements on specific film titles. Film screenings are at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.

En honor del Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros y de mujeres en las artes, el Dallas Museum of Art tendrá una Celebración
de Familia para resaltar las contribuciones culturales y logros artísticos de mujeres en todas las culturas. El evento también marca el inicio de una celebración del Bicentenario Mexicano en el Dallas Museum of Art (México 200).
Disfrute de una gran variedad de actividades de arte culturales para todas las edades incluyendo películas de familia,
una función teatral de Sor Juana apta para las familias de Frida Espinosa Müller, una Conexión de Colección que se
enfoca en la antigua obra maya La dama Bolon K’an y la oportunidad de dibujar en las galerías. Habrá una función
especial del Mariachi Rosas Divinas, el primer grupo femenino de mariachi, como uno de los eventos principales.
También este 11 de abril, el Dallas Museum of Art se unirá con The Dallas Film Society para celebrar el 2010 DALLAS
International Film Festival Family Day. Se mostrarán películas para niños de todo el mundo las cuales se presentarán
