He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UNSW. One of E&Y´s most
experienced mining assurance partners with over 25 years serving clients in
the sector, and has been lead adviser on numerous large risk management and
mitigation projects involving global mining companies. He has an extensive
global experience having advised mining clients in Australia, New Zealand,
South Africa, China, USA, Papua New Guinea, Zimbabwe and Colombia.

Es geólogo/geofísico y consultor en estrategia corporativa y operaciones
con más de 20 años de experiencia en la industria australiana de la minería,
metales, petróleo y gas. Ha ocupado altos cargos para empresas como WMC
y Woodside Energy y es actualmente Non-Executive Director para numerosas
empresas emergentes de recursos con activos en proyectos que incluyen el oro,
níquel, cobre, petróleo, gas y gas natural líquido. Ha trabajado como consultor
en gestión para McKinsey & Company y es profesor adjunto de Economía de
Minerales y Gestión de Minas para el Western Australian School of Mines.
Dr. Trench is a geologist/geophysicist and business management
consultant with over 20 years experience within the Australian resources
sector across a number of commodity groups including gold, nickel,
copper, oil and gas and LNG. He has occupied positions in companies
such as WMC and Woodside Energy and is currently a Non-Executive
Director for several emerging firms. He was a consultant for McKinsey &
Co and is adjunct professor of Mineral Economy, Mining Management at

Comercio Española en Australia. Ha visitado Latinoamérica en numerosas
ocasiones y ha dictado conferencias en asuntos latinoamericanos en
Australia, Singapur y Nueva Zelanda, entre otros.
He is Chairman of the Australia-Latin America Business Council, Deputy
Chairman of the Council for Australia Latin America Relations. He has visited

recursos naturales. A su vez, es co-fundador del Bitterroot Group, LLC, una
“incubadora” para negocios innovadores centrados en recursos naturales. Es

Director, Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining (CSRM), Sustainable Minerals Institute, The University of Queensland.
Ph.D. en Ciencias Políticas de la Universidad de Stanford. Ha brindado
importantes colaboraciones a investigaciones para el sector educacional
y el gobierno, enfocadas en la aplicación de las ciencias sociales en
el mejoramiento de las prácticas y políticas organizacionales. Bajo su
liderazgo, el CRSM ha desarrollado grandes programas de investigación
cuyo énfasis está en la interacción entre las comunidades y el desarrollo
de recursos mineros.
He has a Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford University . Brereton
has contributed with numerous collaborations to investigations for the
educational and governmental sector which were centered on applying
social sciences on the road to improving organizational practices and
policies. As Director of the CSRM, he has led several several research
projects focused on the interaction between communities and mining.
