Abarca aspectos de genética clásica y, asimismo, metodologías y herramientas modernas derivadas del análisis molecular y de la bioinformática. Este curso es indispensable para adquirir las nociones requeridas en los cursos de Genética de Poblaciones y de Evolución. III.- Objetivos de la actividad curricular Al finalizar el curso el estudiantes será capaz de: Explicar los principios mendelianos de la herencia. Comprender los mecanismos generales que subyacen a la expresión y la replicación del material genético. Aplicar herramientas básicas de análisis genético. Relacionar características de la estructura del genoma humano con aspectos de la función celular y la variación y evolución humana. En general, cada clase estará reforzada por un trabajo práctico. Los seminarios bibliográficos corresponderán a la presentación y análisis crítico de un artículo científico. VI.- Evaluación de la actividad curricular Evaluaciones globales (3): ponderación 60%. Seminarios y actividades prácticas: ponderación 20%. Las actividades prácticas podrán ser calificadas por participación, control de laboratorio, desarrollo de guía o informe. Ponderación examen oral= 20%.
