Helping new moms succeed
Babies grow and change so much during their first
years. Regular checkups help make sure your baby
stays healthy and happy. During these visits your
baby’s doctor can find problems you might not see.
So get your baby early and routine care. This helps
your doctor treat any problems quickly.

At these visits, your baby’s doctor will:
• Weigh your baby
• Measure your baby’s length and head size
• Check your baby’s development – hearing, reflexes,
learning
• Give your baby immunizations (shots) as needed
• Talk about lead tests
You’ll also want to make a list of your own questions
and take them with you. This way you can get all the
information you need to give your baby the best care.
