Sick or Dying: The Church
Cares
Presenter: Bishop Mark Seitz
The Church‘s spiritual and pastoral care for
the sick and the dying are often not
understood by many. Bishop Seitz will
answer questions relating to Anointing of the
Sick, Last Rites, viaticum, apostolic pardon and commendation
of the dying. Bishop Seitz will highlight how the Church keeps
one connected to the Body of Christ during life’s most vulnerable
moments.
The Legal Side of One's
Life
Presenter: Jeff Turner, St.
Thomas More Society of
Dallas
Mr. Turner will be addressing legal issues
surrounding end of life decisions including: living wills, life
sustaining procedures, healthcare power of attorney and other
legal decisions about end of life care. Mr. Turner will be speaking
on two documents approved by Bishop Kevin Farrell that
reiterate the dignity and respect for end of life care.

grief take? What can you do to help
someone heal? In our death-denying society, few of us know
how to heal from grief or how to companion others. Come learn
some basics of grief so you can more effectively do both.

wisdom the Church offers regarding some
of the toughest bioethical and moral issues
we face in today’s modern world. What is the Church position on
DNR's and other radical treatment options? What is the Church's
position on organ donation? Is Euthanasia ever a viable option to
end one’s suffering? This presentation will also shed light on how
to make moral, ethical decisions.
