MASS FOR ALL SAINTS: On November 1, the Catholic
ROSARY DURING THE
MONTH OF OCTOBER:
October is a special Month
for each baptized Catholic
Christian to pray the rosary
with Devotion . Parents and guardians should assist their
children in this regard. We encourage families to pray
together the Holy Rosary. However, each devotional group
in our parish will be assigned a special day in the month of
October to lead the community in reciting a group Rosary
in Church. May Mary Mother of the Most Holy Rosary
intercede for us. Amen
“RECHARGE” RETREAT- LET’S RECHARGE OUR BATTERIES
IN CHRIST: Join St. Angela Merici and Christ the King in our
annual youth retreat! The theme for this year
is RECHARGE: What percent are you on? Every day
we charge our phones, laptops and tablets but not our
souls. Take this opportunity to dig deep inside and
generate positive vibes. By the end of this retreat you’ll be
100% in faith, joy and spirit. RECHARGE, REACH OUT,
REJOICE! Our amazing keynotes will include Francis
Gonzalez and Chelsea Rojas from "Corazon Puro",
with incredible music from "Los Amigos de Cristo". We will

with
Mass celebrated

Fr. Nestorio Agirembabazi.
If you are 12 years old or more and are interested in
recharging your faith batteries, talk to any of our church
youth or with the youth leader - Fabio Sanchez for the
application and more information. The cost of the retreat
is $10 per person which includes breakfast, lunch and
other surprises. This retreat will take place on October 22,
2016 from 8:00am-4:30pm in the gymnasium of our
church, Saint Angela Merici. We hope to see you here!
CHRISTMAS RAFFLE: Our parish
organizes about four major fund
raising activities to ensure that
our parish is self sufficient
financially. In so doing, we avoid
the temptation and danger of borrowing. Our Christmas
Raffle tickets are being sold by designated members of the
parish. Please participate. Thank you very much for your
collaboration.

Church will celebrate the Holy Day of Obligation of All
Saints. We will have our English Mass at 1:00p.m. and
Mass in Spanish at 7:30p.m. On that day relics of Saints
will be exposed for veneration by the faithful. All Saints
donation envelopes can be found at the back of the
church. May All the Saints continue to intercede for
us. Amen.
ALL SOULS DAY: On November 2, the Catholic Church
dedicates that day as the Commemoration of all the
Faithful Departed ( All Souls’ Day). This year All Souls will
be on Wednesday. On that day we shall have mass in
English at 1.00 p.m. and Mass in Spanish at
7.30p.m. Memorial Envelopes for all our departed dears
can be found at the back of the church. May the souls of
all the faithful departed rest in eternal peace. Amen
CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF OUR LORD JESUS
CHRIST, KING OF THE UNIVERSE. Sunday November 20,
2016 will be the Feast of Christ the King. The Catholic
Church in USA encourages Christians to set aside the days
before Thanksgiving special intentions for the deeds of
charity, penance and prayers for economic justice. On that
day all masses will be dedicated on the Year of Mercy.

when he gave the baby Jesus a blessing. Likewise, Jesus
admonishes us to be watchful “slaves,” who are not only
responsible in using what we have been entrusted , but
also prudent in generating as much as we can with what
we have been given.
Solemnity of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin
Mary promulgated by Pope Francis will end on the Feast of
Christ the King on November 20, 2016. As we come closer
to that day, have we grown more in our love, kindness and
unbounded generosity? Remember that God is
characterized by Mercy. For when we encounter Mercy
we encounter God in a direct way in our lives. Amen.
Most importantly, the Gospels transform ancient
conceptions of relations between masters and slaves.
Unlike Gentile rulers who lord it over others, leaders
among Jesus’ disciples must serve. As Jesus observes, “For
who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who
serves? But I am among you as one who serves”.
If having “faith” -- even faith the size of a mustard seed -means having one’s thoughts, feelings, and actions wholly
transformed by God’s reign in our midst, then it entails
being a “slave” of God: one wholly devoted to the
fecundity of God’s purposes in the world. Since God’s life is
immeasurable, its generosity eludes any of our attempts to
manipulate it -- either as a power we can control or as a
means for justifying or rewarding ourselves. This is why we
are “worthless slaves”: those to whom nothing is owed .
We serve in the banquet of God’s kingdom simply because
of who we are, or more importantly, because of the One to
whom we belong.

What Jesus says about “faith” sets the stage for what he
says about being God’s “slaves.” Here Jesus points out that
a farmer simply expects a slave to “prepare supper ... and
serve me while I eat and drink” Of course, stories about
masters and slaves are ethically problematic for us as
moderns, who no longer accept the institution of slavery.
Yet in the ancient world, a “slave” was not only a

p.m. hasta 7:20 p.m. tenemos la exposición y adoración del
Santísimo Sacramento. También se recita el rosario. Ven a
adorar a Jesús y dejar saber sus desafíos de la vida en la

de cuatro grandes actividades de
recaudación de fondos para
asegurar que nuestra parroquia es
autosuficiente financieramente. De
este modo, se evita la tentación y el

RETIRO “ RECARGA”- VAMOS A RECARGAR NUESTRAS
BATERIAS EN CRISTO: Acompaña al grupo de jóvenes de
nuestra parroquia junto al grupo de jóvenes de Cristo Rey
en nuestro encuentro anual para jóvenes. El tema de este
año es "RECARGA" : ¿En qué porciento estás tú? Todos los
días, cargamos nuestros teléfonos, computadoras, tabletas
y otras cosas más; pero no cargamos nuestro espíritu.
Toma esta oportunidad para conocerte mejor y generar
vibras positivas en tu vida cristiana. Cuando vengas y te
regocijes con este retiro, tus baterías llegarán al 100% en
fe, alegría y en espíritu. Por eso, RECARGA, ALCANZA Y

MISA DE TODOS LOS SANTOS. El 1 de noviembre, la
Iglesia Católica celebra el día de precepto de Todos los
Santos. Tendremos nuestra misa Inglés a las 1:00 p.m. y la
misa en español a las 7:30 p.m. En aquel día reliquias de los
Santos será expuesto a la veneración de los fieles. Todos
los sobres de donación de Santos se pueden encontrar en
la parte posterior de la iglesia. ¡Que todos los Santos siga

EL DÍA DE LAS ALMAS: El 2 de Noviembre, la Iglesia
Católica dedica ese día como la conmemoración de todos
los (Día de Todos los Santos) fieles difuntos. Este año todas
las almas serán el miércoles. En ese día tendremos la masa
en Inglés en 13:00 y la misa en español en 19:30 Los sobres
conmemorativos para todos nuestros queridos difuntos se
encuentran en la parte posterior de la iglesia. Que las
almas de todos los fieles difuntos descansen en la paz
eterna. Amén.
CELEBRACIÓN DE LA FESTIVIDAD DE NUESTRO
SEÑOR JESUCRISTO, REY DEL UNIVERSO: Domingo 20
de Noviembre de 2016 no será la fiesta de Cristo Rey. La
Iglesia Católica en EE.UU. anima a los cristianos a dejar de
lado los días antes de Acción de Gracias intenciones
especiales para las obras de caridad, de penitencia y
oración por la justicia económica. En ese día todas las
masas se dedicarán sobre el Año de la Misericordia.
El eje de las lecturas de este domingo se mueve en torno a
dos ideas, la sanación de la lepra, y la actuación de Dios en
extranjeros, los sanados de lepra en las lecturas de hoy. El
Libro de los Reyes nos dice que Naamán, el sirio, se curó de
la lepra gracias a la intercesión del profeta Eliseo, Jesús se

encuentra con 10 leprosos que le piden que tenga
compasión y les sane, los sana a los 10, pero sólo regresa a
dar gracias un samaritano, considerado extranjero por los
judíos. En ambos casos vemos la acción misericordiosa de
Dios que alivia el dolor originado por la enfermedad de la
lepra. La cosa parece sencilla pero no lo es, y el entender el
fondo de las lecturas es lo que nos transmitirá la
enseñanza. Partimos de la enfermedad, la lepra. Afecta la
piel, genera llagas que se infectan y se llenan de pus,
llegando a desprender un olor desagradable. Imaginemos
en la antigüedad, sin los adelantos médicos de los que
gozamos hoy, como era la realidad de los leprosos. Pero al
aspecto desagradable de la enfermedad misma, se añade
el hecho de que fue asociada al pecado, se pensó que era
adquirida como castigo por alguna maldad, y entonces la
persona era desterrada, condenada a vivir en las afueras
de las ciudades, por enferma y por pecadora. Como vemos,
ser leproso significaba ser un desechado social y religioso.
Los personajes curados de los que se nos habla hoy son
dos extranjeros. Esto también nos puede parecer normal,
estamos acostumbrados a compartir con gente que no es
de nuestra tierra o de nuestro país. Estamos también
acostumbrados a la diversidad, inclusive a nivel religioso,
no es un escándalo para nosotros el que haya
pensamiento, nacionalidad o credo distinto del nuestro.
Pero trasladándonos a la época en que se desarrollaron
ambas curaciones, nos damos cuenta que el sentido
nacionalista del pueblo de Israel no era sólo una cuestión
de civilidad, sino, y sobre todo, era una cuestión de
salvación, el pensamiento era que sólo los judíos, sólo los
pertenecientes al pueblo elegido serían los que se
salvarían.

JUBILEO DE LA MISERICORDIA
Señor Jesucristo, tu has ensenado a ser misericordioso
como el Padre del cielo, y nos has dicho que quien te ve, lo
ve también a El. Muéstranos tu rostro y obtendremos la
salvación. Tu mirada llena de amor libero a Zaqueo y a
Mateo de la esclavitud del dinero; a la adultera y a la
Magdalena de buscar la felicidad solamente en una
creatura; hizo llorar a Pedro luego de la traición y aseguro
el Paraíso al ladrón arrepentido.
Haz que cada uno de nosotros escuche como propia la
palabra que dijiste a la samaritana: Si conocieras el don de
Dios! Tu eres el rostro visible del Padre invisible, del Dios
que manifiesta su omnipotencia sobre todo con el perdón y
la misericordia: haz que, en el mundo, la iglesia sea el rostro
visible de Ti, su Señor, resucitado y glorioso.

de debilidad para que sientan sincera compasión por los
que se encuentran en la ignorancia o en el error: haz quien
se acerque a uno de ellos se sienta esperado, amado y
perdonado por Dios.
Manda tu Espíritu y conságranos a todos con su unción
para que el Jubileo de la Misericordia sea un ano de gracia
del Señor y tu Iglesia pueda, con renovado entusiasmo,
llevar la Buena Nueva a los pobres proclamar la libertad a
los prisioneros y oprimidos y restituir la vista a los ciegos.
Te lo pedimos por intercesión de María, madre de la
Misericordia, a ti que vives y reinas con el Padre y el
Espíritu Santo por los siglos de los siglos. Amen.

OF MERCY.
Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the
heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees you
sees Him. Show us your face and we will be saved.
Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being
enslaved by money; the adulteress and Magdalene from
seeking happiness only in created things; made Peter weep
after his betrayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant
thief. Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the
words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman: “if you knew
the gift of God!”
You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God
who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and
mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world, its
Lord risen and glorified. You willed that your ministers
would also be clothed in weakness in order that they may
feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: Let
everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and
forgiven by God.
Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its
anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of
Grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed
enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim
liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to
the blind.
We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of
Mercy, you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy
Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.
