La familia de María
Me llamo María. Yo tengo catorce años. Soy baja y morena. Me gusta bailar y cantar. Mi
familia es pequeña. Somos cinco. Vivo con mis padres, mi hermano menor, y mi gato. Nos
gusta ir al parque juntos los sábados por la tarde. Somos muy unidos.
Mi hermano se llama Arturo y tiene doce años. El es antipático y egoïsta, pero es muy
inteligente. Le gusta jugar fútbol con sus amigos y leer.
Mi papá se llama Miguel y tiene cincuenta y tres años. El es serio y tiene el pelo negro.
Le gusta trabajar en el garaje y jugar al ténis. Mi mamá se llama Teresa y tiene cincuenta
años. Ella es bonita y tiene los ojos azules. A ella le gusta cocinar y leer. Mis padres son muy
simpáticos. Cuando tienen tiempo, les gusta ir al cine juntos.
Por fin, hay mi gato, Jorge. Es bonito, del color gris, y es también muy loco. Le gusta
dormir por la tarde y jugar por la noche.

o Label each family member and include more details for at leat four of them (see
below)

o Write at least 3 paragraphs about 2 different members of your family and yourself.
o Make sure you follow the guidelines and requirements below.

Must be no less than eight family members (nine including yourself), and no more than
twenty. You can group large numbers, if you prefer (such as “mis primos”), or you can
just leave them out.
o You can also make up a family, with celebrities as your relatives, or characters
from a family on a TV show.
Must be organized in a logical manner (easy to follow)
At least one grandparent is labeled on the chart.
At least one aunt or uncle is labeled.
At least four people on the chart are detailed with the following information:
o relation to you, using the possessive adjective mi/mis.
o his/her name
o One of the the following three
 age (using tener + # + años)
 2 adjectives that describe the person
 what he/she likes to do
All family members must be labeled with the appropriate Spanish vocabulary (mi madre,
mi hermana, mis primos, mi prima, mis abuelos, etc.)
The must be a title for your family tree in Spanish (such as Mi árbol genealóco, La
familia Gómez, Mi familia, etc.)
Three or more paragraphs – en español:
o This must be typed, or neatly written, on paper separate from your family tree chart.

One about yourself
One paragraph for each of two members of your family that you choose to detail (this
can include a pet or two). Include all of the following in the paragraph:
o relation to you, using the possessive adjective mi/mis.
o his/her name
o age (using tener + # + años)
o 2 adjectives that describe the person
o what he/she likes to do
Written descriptions must correspond to members on the family tree chart. This is usually
obvious, but one never knows.
You will be graded on:
o Completion of task (see above)
o Appropriate vocabulary
o Spelling and grammar
o Neatness
