Ejemplos: Complemento directo: I love you / him / her / it / them. Complemento indirecto: Give me / him / her / them this book ! Complemento de una preposición: Play with me / him / her /it / us / them! También utilizamos estas formas en respuestas cortas: Who is it? (Quién es?) It’s me. I cut myself this morning. She tried to kill herself. I bought myself a new coat this weekend. c. The man is talking to himself. They always speak about themselves. Observaciones: 1. 2. Existe una diferencia entre -selves y each other. Fijaros en los ejemplos: They are looking at themselves in the mirror. (Se estan mirando en el espejo). They are looking at each other. The President himself will attend the meeting. The house itself is nice, but the neighbourhood is terrible. Grammatical Rules (Reglas gramaticales) 1. Ejemplos: How did he hurt himself? (¿Cómo se hizo daño?) We really enjoyed ourselves while on holiday. (Realmente disfrutamos mientras estábamos de vacaciones.) I blame myself. (Me culpo.) 2. Ejemplos: We painted the house ourselves. (Pintamos la casa nosotros mismos.) What a great party! Did you prepare everything yourself? (¡Qué gran fiesta! ¿Lo preparaste todo tú mismo?) 3. Usamos “by” + el pronombre reflexivo para indicar “solo”. Ejemplos: I often prefer to be by myself. (A menudo prefiero estar solo.) She learned to read all by herself. Ejemplos: Help yourself to some coffee. (Sírvete un café tú mismo.) We found ourselves in the middle of a very complicated situation. Ejemplo: I have to shave every other day. (Tengo que afeitarme cada dos días.)I have to shave myself every other day. 6. Utilizamos pronombres reflexivos en algunas expresiones. Ejemplos: Behave yourselves! (¡Compórtate bien!) Help yourself. (Sírvete tú mismo.) Make yourself at home. John and Peter speak to each other every day. (John y Peter se hablan cada día.) Reflexive Pronouns Completa las frases con un pronombre reflexivo (myself etc.), each other o con un pronombre objeto (me, you etc.). 1.
