MUMFORD HOME BULLETIN
First Day Paperwork: Please be sure to fill out and send back all the paperwork your child was given the first day of school.
Emergency Forms are extremely important during the school year; these forms contain the numbers we will use to contact
parents/guardians about illness, behavior and other important school information. Also be sure if the information on this form
changes during the year to contact the office to communicate the correct information. Please be sure the “required parent forms”
have been filled out and returned to school. This packet has information about the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct. These
are important booklets that need to be read by you and your child and are found on our website or parents can ask for a paper copy
to be sent home with their child.
Handbook Rules: The following are only some rules, taken from the handbook, be sure to read the handbook for all
the rules.
PLEASE
READ
Boys: Must be clean shaven, No baggy pants or oversized clothes, belts should be worn. NO earrings.
Girls: Short and skirts NO shorter than 6 inches above the middle of the back of the knee AND must be at least 4 inches
from the bottom of the buttocks. Girls should dress modestly: No shirts that show the belly, no spaghetti strap shirts, halter
tops or racer back shirts and no cleavage. Shirts should not be worn that expose undergarments or show excessive skin.
Both: Hoods, sunglasses, caps, etc are not to be worn inside the building.
Cell Phones and Audio Players: Cell phones should not be on OR being used during the school day. If so, phones will be taken up
and the child will be charged a $15.00 fine, in order to get the phone back. Students are NOT to use iPODS, CD Players or any
other types of audio players. If students are seen using these items or wearing headsets they will be taken up and turned into the
office. A $15.00 fine must be paid to get these items back.
Lunches: Carbonated drinks are not allowed to be purchased at school AND may not be brought from home. This includes
meals that parents bring to their child, drinks brought into school must be in original containers and not in cups with straws.
School Day: School begins at 7:40AM; please have your child at school by this time. Students are not allowed inside the
buildings until 7:30. Parents please note: The school is not responsible for students dropped off before 7:30 am. The school
day ends at 3:15.
Before School - Dropping Off Students: Please abide by the rules of the school parking lot when dropping off or picking
up your children at school.
 Students in grades Pre K - 2nd need to be dropped off at the Primary Building (Collier Foyt Building) in the side parking lot
at the back entrance, near the cafeteria. In order for all traffic in that parking lot to flow in the same direction we ask that
you follow the arrows that are painted on the concrete and circle around to drop off your child.
 Students in grades 3rd - 12th grade need to be dropped off at the front entrance of the main building.
 Buses: The buses unload in front of the primary building and in front of the high school so no cars should be there. Please
DO NOT drop off your children in front of the DeStefano Scamardo Building or near the High School building as we need to
leave these areas open for students walking and for buses.
After School - Picking UP Students: When school is over please follow the rules for picking up your children.



Students in grades Pre k – 2nd can be picked up at the back doors, near the cafeteria, in the side parking lot. Parents
can pick up their children while they stay in their cars or if you would like to come inside the building we ask that you wait
for your children in the back hallway by the cafeteria doors. This will help keep down on hallway traffic and confusion.
Students in grades 3rd – 12th: can be picked up in the front of the main building. We ask parents to stay in their
vehicles as students head to their cars. Teachers on duty will let students know it is safe to walk to their vehicles. Please
talk to your children about not heading out to vehicles without permission by those on duty. If parents need to park to
come into the building, then we ask that you park along the side of the main building. Buses: Students should load the
buses in the bus zone in between the High School and Main Buildings. These students are not to go to the primary building
to help siblings get on the bus - there are teachers to assist the students.
Bus loading: No cars are allowed in front of the Collier Foyt building or the DeStefano Scamardo Building in the
afternoon, this area will be used for bus loading. Thank you for your help in all of these matters!
Texas A&M: Saturday Morning Biophysics: Image Life: Any girl in grades 9 -12th interested in learning more about
research topics in the physical and life sciences are welcome to attend this great program. It is FREE and will take place 5
Saturdays at Texas A&M Health Science Center. Dr. Trache, organizer of the program, will be here to talk to our girls about the
program, Monday, Sept 3rd at 2:30. Students can register at: http://medicine.tamhsc.edu/basicsciences/sbtm/homepages/trache/outreach.php.
Volleyball Games: Our girls HS volleyball team and JH teams have already begun their season come out and support them!!

DARE: We will start the DARE program for 6th graders on Monday, Sept 10th. Sixth grade students will go to DARE from 8:50 -
9:40 each Monday.

Formas del Primer Día: Por favor asegúrese de completar y enviar de regreso todas las formas que les dieron a su niño el primer día de
escuela. Formas de la emergencia son extremadamente importantes durante el año escolar. Estas formas contienen los números que
utilizaremos para contactarnos con padres o guardianes si el estudiante se enferma, comporta mal, o si necesitamos darle otra información
importante de la escuela. También asegúrese de contactar la oficina si estos números cambian. Asegúrese que las formas marcadas “required
parent forms” (formas requeridas de padres) sean regresadas a la escuela. Este paquete tiene información sobre el Manual Estudiantil y
Código de Conducta. Éstos son los libros importantes que necesitan ser leídos por usted y su niño y se encuentran en nuestra pagina de
internet. Padres pueden pedir que una copia de papel sea enviado a casa con su niño.

Reglas del manual: Los siguientes son unas de las reglas tomadas del manual estudiantil. Por favor lea el manual para
ver todas las reglas.
Lea!
Muchachos: Deben estar afeitados, ningunos pantalones colgados o ropas guangas, cinturones deben ser usadas. NO
aretes.
Muchachas: Shorts y faldas NO más cortas de 6 pulgadas de el centro de la parte trasera de la rodilla Y debe estar por lo menos 4
pulgadas del fondo de sus traseros. Las muchachas deben vestir modestamente: Ningunas camisas que demuestran el estomago,
camisas de correa de espagueti, blusas de tirantes (“halter tops”) o blusas sin mangas (“racer backs”) y no escote. Las camisas no
deben ser usadas que expongan ropa interior o demuestran piel excesivamente.
Ambos: Capuchas, gafas de sol, gorras, etc. no deben ser usados adentro del edificios.
Teléfonos celulares y tocadores de música: Teléfonos celulares no deben estar prendidos O ser utilizados durante el día. Si los
utilizan o los prenden se les recogerán los teléfonos y se les dará una multa de $15.00 que tendrán que pagar para poder recoger de
regreso el teléfono. Los estudiantes no deben utilizar iPODS, toca discos, o ningún otro tipo de tocadores de musica. Si ven a los
estudiantes el usar de estos artículos o si usan audífonos, estos seran recogidos y mandados a la oficina. Una multa de $15.00 se
debe de pagar para conseguir estos artículos de regreso.
Almuerzos: Bebidas carbónicas no se permiten ser compradas en la escuela Y no se pueden traer de hogar. Esto incluye las comidas
que los padres traen a su niño, las bebidas traídas a la escuela deben de estar en sus envases originales y no en vasos de casa con
popotes.
Día de la escuela: Escuela comienza a las 7:40, por favor tenga a su niño en la escuela a esta hora. No se permiten estudiantes dentro de los
edificios hasta las 7:30. Padres favor noten: La escuela no es responsable de los estudiantes dejados antes de las 7:30. La escuela se acaba a
las 3:15.
Antes de escuela – dejando a estudiantes: Siga por favor las reglas del estacionamiento de la escuela al dejar sus niños en la escuela.



Estudiantes en grados pre-K al 2 necesitan ser dejados en el edificio primario (edificio Collier Foyt) en el estacionamiento lateral
en la entrada trasera, cerca de la cafetería. Para que todo el tráfico en esa porción del estacionamiento viaje en la misma dirección
pedimos que sigan las flechas pintadas en el concreto y den la vuelta para dejar a su niño.
Estudiantes de 3º al 12º necesitan ser dejados en la entrada delantera del edificio principal.
Autobuses: Autobuses descargan delante del edificio primario y delante de la High School así que coches no deben estar ahí. Por
favor no deje sus niños delante del edificio DeStefano Scamardo ni cerca del edificio de la High School ya que necesitamos dejar
estas áreas libres para los estudiantes que caminan y para los autobuses.
Después de la escuela – recogiendo estudiantes: Cuando la escuela termina por favor siga las reglas para recoger sus niños.



Estudiantes en grados pre-k al 2º pueden ser recogidos en las puertas traseras, cerca de la cafetería, en el estacionamiento
lateral. Los padres pueden recoger a sus niños mientras que permanecen en sus coches o si usted quiere entrar al edificio nosotros
le pedimos que espere a sus niños en el pasillo trasero al lado de las puertas de la cafetería. Esto ayudará a mantener el tráfico en
el pasillo y evitar confusión.
Estudiantes en 3º al 12º: pueden ser recogidos enfrente del edificio principal. Pedimos que los padres permanezcan en sus
vehículos mientras que los estudiantes se dirigen a sus coches. Maestras les dirán a los estudiantes cuando sea prudente caminar a
sus vehículos. Hable por favor con sus niños para que no se vayan a los carros sin el permiso de las maestras. Si los padres necesitan
estacionarse para entrar al edificio, les pedimos que se estacione al lado del edificio principal. Autobuses: Estudiantes deben subir
a los autobuses en la zona designada entre la High School y los edificios principales. Estos estudiantes no pueden ir al edificio
primario a ayudar a hermanos a subirse en el autobús - hay maestras ahí asistiendo a los estudiantes.
Subidas al autobús: No se permite ningun carro delante del edificio Collier Foyt o el edificio DeStefano Scamardo en la tarde.
Esta área será utilizada para los autobuses. ¡Gracias por su ayuda en esto!!!!
Texas A&M- Biofísica el Sabado en la Mañana – Imágenes de Vida: Cualquier muchacha en grados 9 al 12 interesada en aprender
más sobre las ciencias de vida es están invitadas a atender este gran programa. Esto es GRATIS y ocurrirá por 5 sábados en el Centro de
Ciencia de Salud de Texas A&M. Doctora Trache, organizadora del programa, estará aquí para hablar con nuestras muchachas sobre el
programa el lunes, sept. 3, a las 2:30. Los estudiantes pueden registrarse en: http://medicine.tamhsc.edu/basicsciences/sbtm/homepages/trache/outreach.php.
Juegos de Voleibol: ¡Nuestras chicas de voleibol de HS y de JH han comenzado ya su temporada. Ven y apóyalas!! Juegos próximos:

DARE: Comenzaremos el programa DARE (Educación de Resistencia al Abuso de Drogas por sus letras en ingles) para estudiantes de
6º grado el lunes, sept. 10. Estudiantes irán a DARE de 8:50 -9:40 cada lunes.
