Welcome to St. John-Visitation Parish Support
Staff
In this summer of transition throughout the
Archdiocese of New York, our parish welcomes two
new parish support staff members: Mr. George
Chiffriller as our parish business
manager/bookkeeper and Ms. Darline Santos as our
parish administrative assistant/receptionist. We
welcome both George and Darline and look forward
to their professional assistance with St. JohnVisitation Parish.
Papal Tickets
Cardinal Dolan indicated in a memo that
parishes will be receiving a limited number of tickets
for the papal Mass at Madison Square Garden on
Friday September 25th. At this time, we are still
awaiting further details. When this information
becomes known, our parish will communicate the
availability of papal tickets.
Parish Registration
If you and your family have not already done
so, please become registered members of St. JohnVisitation’s Parish. Registration forms are available in
the church and may be returned in the collection
basket or at the parish office. Also, you may come to
the parish office to register, call during the week

Being registered is important since it indicates
a commitment to our parish. Also, parish registration
enables us to assist you when sponsor letters or any
other type of letter from our parish is needed. Church
registration are records to assist parish community
life; no church records are ever reported to INS,
federal, state, or city agencies. Remember that even
the Holy Family needed to register at the time of the
great census prior to our Savior’s birth.

Parish Religious Education Program Registration
With September and the new school year
approaching, it is not too early to register children in
the St. John-Visitation School of Religion Program.
Classes are offered for students not attending Catholic
Schools and whose families desire assistance with
religious instruction and sacramental preparation.
Classes are held on Saturdays for students from First
Grade through High School.

Meeting Space Requests
As the ongoing work at the parish pastoral
center at 275 West 230th Street (the former St.
Joseph's Cursillo Center/ convent) nears completion,
our parish will be in a position to consider meeting
space request for various parish organizations,
groups, and societies beginning August 31st. More
details to follow.
New York Catholic Bible School
The New York Catholic Bible School, a
formation program of the Archdiocesan Catechetical
Office, will be holding classes in Spanish beginning
this fall on Thursday evenings from 7:00=9:00 pm at
St. John-Visitation Church, Bronx.

As soon as 15 participants have registered, the
calendar will be finalized and sent to each student.
Each year of study is made up of three trimesters,
each of which is comprised of 10 class sessions. All
are welcome. Catechists who have completed Level 2
certification may enroll to earn Levels 3 or 4
Certification by completing the two or four-year
program of the Bible School. Discounts are available
for eligible catechists
Year for Families
Pope Francis has asked all Catholics
worldwide to use the months ahead as a time for
preparation and prayer for the World Meeting of
Families to be held in Philadelphia this coming
September.

Entradas Papales
Cardenal Dolan indicó en una nota que las parroquias
estarán recibiendo un número limitado de entradas

viernes 25 de septiembre. En este momento, todavía

información se da a conocer , nuestra parroquia se

Registro Parroquial
Si usted y su familia no lo han hecho, por
favor, ser miembros registrados de la parroquia San

Registro de Programa de Educación Religiosa
Parroquial
Septiembre y el nuevo año escolar se acerca,
no es demasiado pronto para registrar a los niños en
el San Juan-Visitación Programa de Religión. Las
clases se ofrecen para los estudiantes que no asisten a
las escuelas católicas y las familias que desean ayuda
con la instrucción religiosa y la preparación
sacramental. Las clases se imparten los sábados para
los estudiantes de primer grado hasta la secundaria.

Solicitudes Para el Espacio de Reuniones
Como la labor que se está llevando a cabo en
el centro de pastoral parroquial en el 275 West 230ª
Calle (ex San José centro Cursillo/convento) está por
terminar, nuestra parroquia estará en condiciones de
considerar solicitudes de espacio de reuniones,
organizaciones parroquiales, grupos y sociedades.

La Escuela Bíblica Católica de Nueva York
La Escuela Bíblica Católica de Nueva York,
un programa de formación de la Oficina de
Catequesis de la Arquidiócesis, va a ofrecer clases en
español comenzando este otoño los jueves por la
tarde de 7:00-9:00 en la iglesia de St. John-Visitation,
Bronx.
Los interesados están invitados a visitar la

Una vez se hayan inscrito 15 participantes, el cupo se
completará y el calendario será enviado a cada
estudiante. Cada año de estudio consta de tres
trimestres, cada uno de los cuales está compuesto por
10 sesiones de clase. Todos son bienvenidos. Los
catequistas que han completado la certificación de
nivel 2 pueden inscribirse para completar la
certificación de los niveles 3 y 4 sujeto a terminar el
programa de dos o de cuatro años de la Escuela
Bíblica. Hay descuentos disponibles para los
catequistas elegibles.
Año Para Las Familias
El Papa Francisco le ha pedido a todos los
católicos del mundo a usar los próximos meses como
un tiempo de preparación y oración para el Encuentro
Mundial de las Familias que se celebrará en
Philadelphia en Septiembre del 2015.
