ALL SOULS’ DAY
As is our custom, we remind everyone to offer
Masses for their deceased family members and friends.
Envelopes for All Souls Day are now available in church,
in the sacristy, and in the rectory. The names of these
faithful departed will be kept on the high altar, next to
the tabernacle, to be prayed for throughout the month
of November.
GENERATIONS OF FAITH
PASTOR’S PERSPECTIVE
Dear parishioners:
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen was the National Director
of the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of the Faith
from 1950 to 1966. In February of 1951, during a radio
program called “The Catholic Hour”, he inaugurated the
World Mission Rosary, saying: “We must pray, and not
for ourselves, but for the world.” When we pray this
Rosary, Archbishop Sheen said, we would help the Holy
Father “by supplying him with practical support, as well
as prayers, for the poor mission territories of the world.”
Each decade of the World Mission Rosary has a
different color, reminding us of the different areas where
the Church continues her evangelizing mission: green for
the forests and grasslands of Africa; red calling to mind
the fire of faith that brought missionaries to the
Americas; white symbolizing Europe, the seat of the Holy
Father, shepherd of the world; blue for the ocean
surrounding the islands of the Pacific; and yellow, the
morning light of the East, for Asia.
This Sunday marks the 90th anniversary of World
Mission Sunday, first approved by Pope Pius XI in 1926,
and organized by the Pontifical Mission Society for the
Propagation of the Faith. Annually, World Mission
Sunday is celebrated on the next-to-last Sunday in
October. It is a day set aside for Catholics worldwide to
recommit themselves to the Church’s missionary activity
through prayer and sacrifice.

Seven months ago we
conducted the Generations of
Faith campaign in our parish.
This campaign was necessary
to raise the much needed fund
for Diocesan and parish
projects. Our parish’s goal was
$385,000.
Our generous
parishioners pledged almost
three times that amount. However, as of October 3, only
10% of the pledges have been paid. Meanwhile, we have
already started working on the parish projects. If you
have not received any payment request in the mail,
please contact the rectory. Payment can be made by
mail, in the rectory or online at www.cfbq.org/
generations/payments. Again, we give heartfelt thanks
to all our parishioners who made our Generations of
Faith campaign such a success.
DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE
All are invited to join Bishop
DiMarzio and the Diocese of
Brooklyn on a Marian Pilgrimage
to the National Shrine of the
Immaculate
Conception
in
Washington, DC on Saturday,
October 29. Our parish’s bus will
leave around 6:00 AM and will
return by 10:00 PM on the same
day. The bus fare is $50 per
person. Please bring your own lunch. Please call the

THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS
All are invited to join Bishop DiMarzio and support
Catholic Schools by attending the Spirit of Christmas
Concert at Lincoln Center, starring the New York Tenors –
Daniel Rodriguez, Andy Cooney, Christopher Macchio –
and The Voice of Italy 2014 winner, Sr. Cristina Scuccia,

LA PERSPECTIVA DEL PÁRROCO
Queridos feligreses:
El Arzobispo Fulton J. Sheen fue el Director Nacional
de la Obra Pontificia de la Propagación de la Fe de 1950 a
1966. En febrero de 1951, durante un programa de radio
llamado “La Hora Católica”, inauguró el Rosario de la
Misión Mundial, diciendo: “debemos rezar, no por
nosotros mismos, sino para el mundo.” Cuando oramos
este Rosario Misionero, el Arzobispo Sheen dijo,
queremos ayudar al Santo Padre, “facilitándole apoyo
práctico, así como oraciones, para los territorios de
misión pobres de el mundo.”
Cada década del Rosario
Misionero tiene un color diferente,
que nos recuerda las diferentes
áreas en las que la Iglesia continúa
su misión evangelizadora: verde
por los bosques y las praderas de
África; rojo llamando a la mente el
fuego de la fe que llevó a los
misioneros a las Américas; blanco
simbolización de Europa, la sede
del Santo Padre, pastor del mundo;
azul por el mar que rodea las islas del Pacífico; y amarillo,
la luz de la mañana del Oriente, por Asia.
Este domingo se cumple el 90 aniversario del
Domingo Mundial de las Misiones (el “DOMUND"),
aprobada inicialmente por el Papa Pío XI en 1926, y
organizada por la Obra Pontificia de la Propagación de la
Fe. Cada año, el DOMUND se celebra el penúltimo
domingo de octubre. Es un día reservado para los
católicos de todo el mundo a comprometerse de nuevo a
la actividad misionera de la Iglesia a través de la oración
y el sacrificio.

apoyar los trabajos de la Obra Pontificia de la

DÍA DE LOS FIELES DIFUNTOS
A medida que es nuestra costumbre, les recordamos
a todos a ofrecer misas por sus familiares y amigos
fallecidos. Sobres para el día de los fieles difuntos están
ahora disponibles en la iglesia, en la sacristía y en la
rectoría. Los nombres de estos fieles difuntos se
mantendrán en el altar alto, al lado del tabernáculo, para
que se ore por ellos a través del mes de noviembre.
GENERACIONES DE FE
Hace siete meses que llevamos a cabo la campaña de
Generaciones de Fe en nuestra parroquia. Esta campaña
fue necesaria para elevar fondos para los proyectos
diocesanos y parroquiales que tanto se necesitan. La
meta de nuestra parroquia era de $385.000. Nuestros
feligreses generosos se comprometieron casi lo triple de
la meta. Sin embargo, a partir del 3 de octubre, sólo el
10% de las promesas han sido pagadas. Mientras tanto,
ya hemos empezado a trabajar en los proyectos
parroquiales. Si no ha recibido ninguna solicitud de pago
por correo, por favor, póngase en contacto con la

UNA NOCHE LLENA DE BENDICIÓN

PEREGRINACIÓN DIOCESANA
Todos están invitados a unirse a obispo DiMarzio y la
Diócesis de Brooklyn en una peregrinación mariana al
Santuario Nacional de la Inmaculada Concepción en
Washington, DC el sábado, 29 de octubre. El autobús de
Nuestra parroquia se irá alrededor de las 6:00 de la
mañana y regresará a las 10:00 pm el mismo día. La

CARRERA DE LA VIRGEN DE GUADALUPE
El Apostolado Mexicano Diocesano está organizando
una carrera otra vez a la Co-Catedral de San José el 12 de
diciembre en honor a la Virgen de Guadalupe. Cualquier
persona de 13 años de edad o mayor puede participar. El
costo es de $45 por persona, que incluye el uniforme. La
carrera concluirá con una Misa en la co-catedral. Al final
de la Misa, el Obispo bendecirá las antorchas que cada
grupo parroquial llevará al regresar a su parroquia. Para

富尔顿•若望•施恩总主教曾于 1950 年到 1966

这个星期天是世界传教节的 90 周年纪念日，这

教区朝圣
邀请大家参加迪马守主教带领，布碌仑教区
组织的圣母朝圣团，于十月二十九日（星期六）
到华盛顿的无原罪圣母大殿朝圣。我们堂区的车
