UN CORAZÓN AGRADECIDO
Una persona con un corazón agradecido, conmueve el corazón de Dios. ¿Sabías que dar gracias
significa corresponder con gratitud por un bien recibido? Esto es lo que vemos en Lucas 17:11-19, la
Biblia nos habla sobre la historia de los diez leprosos. La lepra es una enfermedad que deforma
completamente al ser humano. En aquellos tiempos, tener lepra, era repugnante; la persona era
expulsada y tenía que salir fuera de la ciudad para evitar el contagio de las personas a su alrededor.
Estos diez leprosos, tal vez tenían años sin ver su piel sana sin úlceras; años sin sentir ese olor
putrefacto causado por la misma enfermedad, hasta aquel día cuando Jesús pasó por su ciudad.
Después de clamar a Jesús por compasión, el Señor Jesús hizo el milagro y ellos recibieron la sanidad,
mientras se dirigían a ver los sacerdotes para hacer ofrendas por su purificación. ¿Te imaginas ese
momento? ¿Ver su piel totalmente sana y limpia instantáneamente? Pero aunque los diez hombres
recibieron la sanidad, solamente uno regresó a donde estaba Jesús para darle las gracias. ¡Qué pena
por los nueve, pero que alegría por el uno que si fue agradecido! Veamos las características de ese
corazón agradecido:
Inmediatamente Buscó a su Sanador. El hombre reconoció a Jesús como su Sanador y por esa razón
se regresó a encontrarle en el camino. El pudo haber decidido ir a buscar a su familia, amigos que tal
vez tenía años sin verles, pero no, él prefirió buscar a Jesús. ¿Por qué? Porque quería darle gracias y
reconocerlo como su Sanador y Salvador.
Inmediatamente Comenzó a Alabar a Dios. Este hombre no se contuvo, su corazón gritaba, tal vez
con danzas y cantos, la inmensa gratitud por recibir la sanidad. Ya no era esclavo de esa horrible
enfermedad, ahora era libre para disfrutar una nueva vida. Ya no había mas razón para duelo, el
tiempo de la fiesta con Jesús había comenzado.
Inmediatamente Se Humilló. Cuando este hombre encontró a Jesús, dice la Biblia que él, “cayó
rostro en tierra a los pies de Jesús” (V.16) y le dio las gracias. No importó la multitud a su alrededor ni
el que dirán, pero se postró en humillación reconociendo que Jesús era Dios.
Jesús, después de ver como este hombre se acordó de Dios, preguntó, “¿Acaso no quedaron limpios
los diez? ¿Dónde están los otros nueve? ¿No hubo ninguno que regresara a dar gloria a Dios?”
Pareciera increíble que estos nueve hombres se hayan olvidado de dar gracias a pesar de ser
liberados de la muerte. Así sucede hoy día con la mayoría de la gente que recibe tanto de Dios,
desde la vida, la naturaleza, sobre todo, le ofrece salvación, sanidad en Cristo; pero no son
agradecidos.
¿Cómo expresas tu gratitud a Dios? ¿Buscas a Dios reconociendo quien es El en tu vida y le alabas
reconociendo su grandeza? ¿Te postras ante El con gratitud de corazón? En este mes de acción de
gracias, es el mejor momento de ser agradecido por sus bondades y por todo lo que Dios ha hecho
por nosotros, por habernos dado a su Hijo Jesucristo. Mi hermano y amigo…comencemos hoy a ser
sumamente agradecidos a El en todo tiempo y así conmoverás el corazón de Dios a tu favor.

A GRATEFUL HEART
A person with a grateful heart moves the heart of God. Did you know that to give thanks means to
repay with gratitude for receiving something good? This is what we see in Luke 17:11-19, the Bible
tells us about a story of ten men who had leprosy. Leprosy is an illness that completely deforms the
human body. In those times, having leprosy was disgusting; the person was expelled from the city
and banned from coming into the city in order to protect other people from getting sick. These ten
men probably hadn’t seen their skin healed without any ulcers in years. They hadn’t been able to
stop smelling that putrid smell caused by the same illness until that one day when Jesus came to their
city.
After crying out to Jesus for compassion, the Lord Jesus did the miracle and they were healed as
they’re going to see the priests to give their purification offerings. Can you imagine that moment? All
of sudden, they noticed their skin was completely healed and clean instantly! Yet, even though ten
men had received healing only one of them came back to see Jesus to give him thanks. How sad for
the other nine but what a joyful moment for the one that was grateful. Let’s see the characteristics
of this grateful heart:
He Immediately Sought his Healer. The man acknowledged Jesus as his Healer and for that reason,
he came back to look for him in the road. He could have gone to see his family or friends he hadn’t
seen for years, but he preferred to go find Jesus. Why? Because this man wanted to thank Jesus and
to acknowledge him as his Healer and Savior.
He Immediately Praised God. This man didn’t contain himself, his heart shouted, maybe with
dancing and songs, his immense gratitude for receiving healing. He wasn’t a slave of that horrible
illness, now he was free to enjoy a new life. There was no more reason for him to mourn; the time of
He Immediately Humbled Himself. When this man found Jesus, the Bible tells us that he “fell upon
his face at his feet, giving thanks to him” (V.16). The multitude around him didn’t matter and neither
did he worry about what people would say to him, but he bowed down and humbled himself
acknowledging Jesus as God.
When Jesus saw how this man remembered God, asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other
nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” It seems impossible that these nine
men forgot to be thankful even though they’re set free from death. This same scenario is seen today with the
majority of people that receive so much from God; life, nature, and most of al salvation and healing in Christ.
Yet, they are not grateful.
How do you express gratitude to God? Do you seek God acknowledging who He is in your life praising
Him for his greatness? Do you bow down before Him with a grateful heart? In this month of
thanksgiving, is the best time to be grateful for his goodness and for everything God has done for us;
for giving us his Son Jesus Christ. My brother and friend…let us begin today and be grateful to Him at
all times and in that way, God’s heart will be moved and give you of his favor.
