La carbamazepina se usa principalmente para tratar los síntomas de trastorno bipolar (principalmente manía) y epilepsia. A veces también se usa para aliviar los síntomas de la neuralgia del trigémino (una enfermedad dolorosa de la cara), abstinencia del alcohol y otras enfermedades. What is carbamazepine used for? Carbamazepine is mainly used to help treat the symptoms of bipolar mood disorder (mainly mania) and epilepsy. It is also sometimes used to help the symptoms of trigeminal neuralgia (a painful condition of the face), alcohol withdrawal and other conditions. ¿Cuál es la dosis normal de carbamazepina? What is the usual dose of carbamazepine? Swallow the tablets whole with at least half a glass of water whilst sitting or standing. This is to make sure that they reach the stomach and do not stick in your throat. There is no problem about taking carbamazepine before, with, or after food. If the label says to take it once a day this is usually best at bedtime as it may make you drowsy at first. ¿Cuánto tarda en hacer efecto la carbamazepina? Take the missed dose as soon as you remember unless it is within about 4-6 hours of your next dose. If you remember after this just take the next dose as normal.
