Christmas 2014
Dear Friends in Christ,
“He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree,” said Roy L. Smith (American
clergyman). To have Christmas in our heart is to make Christ the central figure of this glad holiday season.
To do this, we should begin with a spirit of joyful expectancy, asking God to cleanse our hearts and minds
and to prepare us for a special consciousness of His presence.
We must be joyfully expectant that during the holy season we are going to meet with the Lord Jesus.
Determine to make Christmas His birthday. Everything about Christmas should exalt the Lord Jesus Christ.
In Luke 2:10-11, the angel announced to the shepherds, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you
good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born
for you who is Messiah and Lord.”
After 2,000 years it is still the most joyful news ever announced because God became man and dwelt among
us; He died on the cross for our sins, and through His teachings, miracles, death, resurrection and example,
He demonstrated Himself to be the Son of God.
I encourage you to make the most of this holiday season by hosting or organizing dinners where you can
invite non–believers into your home. It is a time for introducing others to Christ as their Savior and Lord, as
well as challenging Christians who have not been walking close to God to recognize the tremendous
privilege of knowing Him and experiencing His life of purpose.
I encourage you to prepare your heart for Christmas by planning ahead for your Christmas Eve and
Christmas Day family gatherings. Think about the Scripture you will read; Christmas songs you will sing.
Matthew 1:18–25 and Luke 2:1–20 are the two most familiar passages dealing with our Lord’s birth.
Christmas is an ideal time for parents to remind their children of the true meaning of Christmas and for the
children to tell what Christmas means to them—specifically, what Jesus Christ has done for them.
You will also want to consider the possibility of sharing Christmas with a lonely person or with families
where one parent has gone to be with the Lord. If there are widows or orphans nearby, or a family in the
community who may go unnoticed, you may want to prepare a Christmas basket for them. Jesus said to His
disciples in Matthew 25:40, “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine,
you did for me.” The Christmas season is also an important time to visit those who are in prisons, hospitals
and nursing homes.
Don’t get caught up in the commercialism of Christmas. Instead, use this glad holiday season as a special
time to worship and serve the King of kings and Lord of lords, to celebrate renewal in your own life, and to
reach out to your friends and family.
I hope that the joy and beauty of Christ’s love for us all abound in your home and heart this Christmas.

La Navidad 2014
Queridos Amigos en Cristo,
El que no tiene Navidad en su corazón, nunca la encontrará bajo un árbol”, dijo Roy L. Smith (clérigo
americano). Para tener a la Navidad en nuestro corazón es hacer que Cristo sea la figura central de esta temporada
de fiestas alegres. Para ello, debemos comenzar con un espíritu de alegre esperanza, pidiendo a Dios que limpie
nuestros corazones mentes y para prepararnos para una conciencia especial de Su presencia.
Debemos estar con alegría y esperanza que durante el tiempo santo vamos a cumplir con el Señor Jesús.
Determinar como celebrar Su cumpleaños. Todo sobre la Navidad debería exaltar al Señor Jesucristo. En Lucas 2:
10-11, el ángel anunció a los pastores: “No tengas miedo; porque he aquí, yo vengo a comunicarles una buena
noticia de gran gozo, que será para todo el pueblo. Para hoy en la ciudad de David, un salvador ha nacido para
ustedes que es el Mesías y Señor”.
Más de 2.000 años, es todavía la noticia más alegre jamás anunciada porque Dios se hizo hombre y habitó entre
nosotros; Él murió en la cruz por nuestros pecados, y por medio de sus enseñanzas, milagros, muerte,
resurrección y su ejemplo, él demostró que él era el Hijo de Dios.
Animo a hacer la mayor parte de esta temporada de vacaciones por alojamiento o la organización de cenas donde
se pueda invitar a los no creyentes en su hogar. Es un tiempo para introducir a otros a Cristo como su Salvador y
Señor, así como cristianos desafiantes que no han estado caminando cerca de Dios para reconocer el enorme
privilegio de conocer y experimentar su vida con propósito.
Animo a preparar su corazón para la Navidad por planificar el futuro para sus reuniones familiares Nochebuena y
Navidad. Piense en la lectura de las Escritura que va a leer; Canciones de Navidad que va a cantar. Mateo 1: 1825 y Lucas 2: 1-20 son los dos pasajes más familiares que ocupan el nacimiento de nuestro Señor. La Navidad es
un momento ideal para que los padres recuerden a sus hijos del verdadero significado de la Navidad y para los
niños que les digan que significa la Navidad para ellos, en concreto, lo que Jesucristo ha hecho por ellos.
También tendrá que considerar la posibilidad de compartir la Navidad con una persona solitaria o con familias en
las que uno de los padres ha ido a estar con el Señor. Si hay viudas o huérfanos cercanos, o una familia en la
comunidad que puede pasar desapercibida, es posible que desee preparar una cesta de Navidad para ellos. Jesús
dijo a sus discípulos en Mateo 25:40: “En verdad os digo que cuanto hicisteis a uno de estos hermanos míos más
pequeños, a mí lo hicisteis.” El tiempo de Navidad es también un momento importante para visitar a los que están
en las cárceles, hospitales y hogares de ancianos.
No se deje atrapar por la comercialización de la Navidad. En su lugar, utilice esta temporada de vacaciones Feliz
como un tiempo especial para adorar y servir al Rey de reyes y Señor de señores, para celebrar la renovación en
su propia vida, y para llegar a sus amigos y familiares.
Espero que la alegría y la belleza del amor de Cristo para todos nosotros abunden en su hogar y corazón en esta
Navidad. Le deseo paz y felicidad en esta Navidad.
